Esmée Alexander well, they're not super accurate, they certainly do not have flexibility and the cheap ones sometimes do not have correct analogy and anatomy. But! when you really are stuck on drawing a pose, like a complicated one you cant really use your own body for reference or find a reference online, you can try to imitate the pose with the manequein and get the general idea, not the full anatomy/analogy image, just the basic shapes. So, you have to be a little more experienced with understanding human muscles and skeleton, so you can get just the basic shapes with the manequein, and later fix these "shapes" and adjust them into becoming a human form image

Esmée Alexander ugh they are horrible,stiff as rock. I bough an actual figure that I can chsnge the hands position but most what I get is online.Get a pose I want and do adjustment to make it more like my artxD Also it helps gathering body parts

"...each segment is about the same size" ohmygod thank you so much. hands have never made sense to me and they always end up looking weird. that little bit of information I think just helped click how hands work into my brain. the hand I drew for a note on that somehow turned out even better than they normally do even though it only took about 3 minutes xD thank you for this video/knowledge

Guys, Just a tip. you don't have to watch a thousand videos to try and learn, you need to feel it. all you need to do is concentrate and take your time. draw it light with a pencil so it is easy to rub out, and take your time.

Yea, it'll be able to move just fine, HOWEVER it's level of mobility is not as much as the other fingers. You can NEVER truly point with the ring finger nor can you truly flip the bird with your ring finger. And you can never hold out your hand and lift your ring finger (like ni had talked about in regards to what poses are possible) +Alyssa's Channel

I never seen an artist explain so well!! The way you explain everything is super helpful! I'm able to draw faces very well! but the hands...are like a five years old artwork...so like , I can make a super beautiful realistic face but then u look at the hands and its just....ew
