Hacking a Chinese Diesel Heater With HackRF, ESP32 & Chat GPT, Part 7- FIFO Buffer Breakthrough

In this episode, we use the HackRF to monitor the packets being sent and attempt to decode any data from the buffer. We finally grasp how the FIFO buffer works and how the GDO2 is indicating that data is indeed in the buffer. Although we haven't transmitted to the diesel heater just yet, we're confident that it should be possible to program the ESP32 to interface with Home Assistant and control the heater this winter.

Change code to us gdo2 to use gpio 12 and gdo0 to pin 2 I had strange transmit on gpio 4 . Also be sure to try a 2nd cc1101 because I also had a cc1101 unit that kept my head banging the wall only to fing out my transmit gdo2 was back feeding pulses strange issues

@@FliVisualsMedia I use my cc1101 in a multitude of projects I have about 12 different things I'm using it for. Best tips I could give for it is theory from gpio 0 and gpio2 on esp32 boards way too noisy for some reason and causes really bad communication for some reason with any of my setups switching to pin 2 and pin 4 on the esp32 makes a world of difference. As for the heater in this video that he's trying to get working I don't know if you ever got it successfully working or not and personally used esp32 and the cc-1101 for other projects I just have been down the same road. Tracing problems down for weeks on end and just switching those two pins changed the behavior of the cc1101
