With smaller players VVD restrains himself, with Haaland he can flex to the max. They both enjoy the challenge. VVD has 10 years experience on Haaland. That's alot!! With time Haaland will learn to combine technicality and flair with his brute force. Then and only then will he be a BEAST💪🏽.

Haaland is crap with the ball at his feet far from the opposition goal, surrounded by 2-4 players. He's rubbish in tight spaces. He's not a complete footballer. Scoring a bunch of goals doesn't make you a beast of a footballer. A goal machine? Yes. Just a robot, that's all. He can never get to the level of the football greatest.

Wrong decisions and good Allison stop him. Van Dijk didnt have control on Haaland, especially first half of the game. It has been 50/50 all the matches. Haaland was more tecnical, intense and faster for Salzburg. But a lot injuries has change the way to play to be a better player.

Van dijk has good body framing & scanning hence can adapt to burst of speed & guard transitioning unlike Maguire

the tough thing for both of them is to try to tackle each other since they are similar in size. They have to exert a lot of energy to balance themselves and tackle someone who's big. Combine that with running and VvD needs to work his hardest just to keep up w Håland and also put enough force in his tackles. Håland can focus on just keeping his balance and the ball. What they need is a short and compact cb w van Dijk who can tackle Håland if van Dijk is somewhere else
