洪水橋站將坐落於天水圍站和兆康站之間，係全港首個於營運中的高架橋鐵路上興建嘅新車站。 為騰出地方興建新車站，部分喺屯馬綫上嘅設施需要重置，所以工程團體會喺主體工程開始前，進行一系列加建同改建工程。
為盡量減低對鐵路日常運作嘅影響，大部分工序只能喺收車後「黃金兩小時」進行。

Hung Shui Kiu Station will be built on the Tuen Ma Line between Tin Shui Wai Station and Siu Hong Station. It will be the first station to be built on an operating railway viaduct in Hong Kong. To make way for constructing the new station, some of the existing facilities on site will have to be relocated. Therefore, the project team will have to conduct a series of alterations and additions works before the start of main construction.
To minimise the impact on daily railway operations, most of the works are done within the “Golden 2 Hours” during non-service hours.
