    Looking forward to more of these Sport Glide battles. I'm following closely to see what others have done successfully before diving in the pool and doing a stage 1 on my Sport Glide. I find it challenging to find good information on the SG as it's fairly new and not too much of a selection of aftermarket.

    I purchased the 18 Sport glide, this is my 3rd year on it. It has bin quite an adventure since it was my first bike purchase. I just recently put a stage 1 on it which included,Screaming Eagles heavy breather dressed up from the Brass collection, a Two Brothers comp s 2 into 1 exhaust in stainless steel, and to tie it all together in the ECM I installed the Vance and hines FP3, I couldn't be happier with the end result. PS. The pipe has now discoloured to accent the brass air cleaner cover, looks great.

    Nice comparison video Alf! While the Cobra is nice, the stock exhaust does not sound bad at all and has a good rumble to it. Nothing wrong with leaving it stock. From my test ride experience, that is a bit unique to the Sport Glide as some of the other softail models stock exhausts are very quiet by comparison.

    I am still amazed by the high number of Sport Glides I see that are left totally standard. It makes mine stand out, which is not a bad thing!. Looking forward to the power comparison in this series. Is stage one really worth it?!. If I buy another Harley it will have the 114 motor and I will probably leave it as standard for at least one riding season.

    Hi there Alf, did I miss you upgrading, or is the heroic Harley still sort of stock, stagewise that is? I am considering Jekill and Hyde pipes as a part of my upgrade. Veeery expensive. But anyway, I was thinking, in the three different modes, is the board computer adjusting the airflow or is only one mode the perfect match? Any thoughts?

  • @RevelatorAlf

    With the J&H exhausts I still believe it operates within the limits of whatever map is set for it. So one map will suit all three modes as it’s just tone that is changed I believe. But be interesting to find out for sure cheers

    Hi Alf, I bought a SE Ventilator intake for my 18 Heritage 114 this week at over £300. It has just been returned for a refund as the only difference between it and the stock oem ventilator intake is the K&N filter (which can be bought separately for about £70) The only thing you haven't got is the SE medallion on the intake, but as I prefer the 114 logo there, as it's less showy, I haven't got a problem with that. Good work on the channel, I was very interested in your review of the Denali Harley Cansmart.

    Hi Alf, I've got almost the same configuration as your mate, except for my V&H Pro pipe. It's so damn loud I have to wear earplugs. It's to loud. Bike runs great, But I'm thinking of placing my original exhaust back on the bike. Problem is: I like the V&H downpipes much more. Can't go to Germany as the loud-pipes discussion is increasing. A silent baffle is no solution either. Still too loud. Found a company in Germany (Fanatics motorcycle), called them but they only made a prototype of their Thorcat catalysor for the Sport Glide. This one has conformity throughout Europe.

    John Maxwell and Matt Laidlaw go over mods and warranty issues in some you tube videos. With tuners, it gets interesting, pipes to some extent too. I wonder if folks realize the consequences. Just saying as a baseline. Vehicles made today, at least in the states, will show if a car or bike has been tuned if connected to the computer diagnostic at the dealer and it flags the bike and invalidates the drivetrain warranty, if I understood it right. Chances are there are no negative effects of the mods, but manufacturers will do as they like. So, with HD, if you use all screaming eagle stuff, meaning from HD, the warranty is fine. Anything that isn't HD can be a problem.

  • @rosswonderley4794

    @rosswonderley4794

    4 жыл бұрын

    Depends on the country. In Australia, whatever the dealer fits, they're on the hook for. Australian Consumer law dictates this. I still went SE for my Stage 1 but the dealer included a Maximus tuner since our emissions rules aren't as strict as Euro 6 or US EPA and there's no need to accept the restrictions of the SE Pro Street Tuner.

  • @nokoolaid

    @nokoolaid

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@rosswonderley4794 It does. In the US, the EPA has sued companies for not being within regs and the result is locking things down or making consequences as I have said. It's happened were someone has tuned with non HD tuners and when the bike is connected to HD's diagnostic computer it sees it, phones home to report it and goodbye warranty. HD had to pay a fine a few years back too. SO, in short, if you use a HD tuner, it's ok. Anyone else's, not so much. Still, Magnusson Moss Act is in force, so one can do their own maintenance in the states and not screw up the warranty as long as they use items within the manufacturers specs, on the manufacturers schedule and save the receipts. It's good to document it too. I have a google sheet I still use for maintenance.
