Gypsy girl of Zeugma | Have you seen the Zeugma Mosaic Museum? | Gaziantep

The Zeugma Mosaic Museum collection includes 2.448 m² of mosaics from the Roman and Late Antique period; 140 m² of frescoes, 4 Roman fountains, 20 columns, 4 limestone statues, a bronze Mars statue, tomb stelae, sarcophagi, and architectural fragments, all restored to a condition ready for exhibition. On the second floor of museum, a mysterious, labyrinthine room emphasizes the mournful expression of the Gypsy Girl Mosaic displayed within.

If it is a Roman city why all letters in Mosaics are Greek? Obviously some people avoid to admit the fact that Anatolia was densely populated by Greeks for thousand of years although archaology provides numerous proofs...

Because even after Rome conquered Greece, The inhabitants didnt automatically become Roman. This even lives onto the Medieval era and the present day. Greek was always a second language in the Roman Empire.

@Konstantin Trehagyrevopoulos Yes, I know that. Nobody has said anything different. And everyone who knows something about Hellenism, realize that nowadays Turkey was a Hellenistic space. Diadohs, i.e. generals of Alexander the Great divided all qonquered theritory, as Mr. Kenan Acar said.

And now I'm thinking about this earthquaks...I'm mining engineer, and I know something about earthquakes...and I know that Antioch on the Orontes was destroyed by huge quake, but simply, nothing bad is not in my mind, when thinking about so gorgeous country.
