I mean, she has no reason to be disrespectful. She could have thought it was way easier, but I think if you understand what it takes to do these things and you watch a few rhythmic routines you can see that it's a different skill set and very challenging as well.

@@chuuu4610 I'd think rhythmic is even more of a sport than ballet (though ballet and dance in general are absolutely physically demanding) because they have a lot of competitions and skills they need to train and develop over time, rhythmic gymnasts train as much as artistic gymnasts that go to the Olympics.

it's true though...cheerleaders on the sidelines do some hard tumbling passes that as a former gymnast absolutely blow my mind...the gymnastics floor has springs and boards under it so that's where the give comes from but on a track or just grass it's like damn that's yea that's impressive

I speak from experience-if you land a strike with your knee or elbow while fighting, you could EASILY take them out.

Katelyn will say something real dark like "that's when I fractured my sternum" then do an adorable laugh, and honestly I felt that

I think she laughed because it's so unrealistic that the gymmast didn't just stop the giants and get off the apparatus

I love how all these "expert explains" videos are like people in their 50s and 60s. Grizzled, decades of experience. But gymnastics is such a grind that you can get a 24 year-old to explain all that stuff to the same level.

Because gymnists start early. Like if they can scratch all of their backs, you know they can probably do a handstand. You don't get to national level if you pick up gymnastics as a hobby in your teens. Idk anyone who has done it, but if they did, it would be a rare feat. So a 24 year old gymnist does in fact have at least a decade under their belt in experience....that is in addition to the several years it took for them to get to even competition worthy skill and strength and flexibility.

@@tspawn35 yes, its cuz its a brutal business. these girls go through alot of abuse to become the best. kind of like the K pop or sports / Esports business model get them young, train them like crazy, and if they dont become the top 10% earners, then kick them to the curb.

@@realdavidjones1623 for extra curricular yes, for the most part they do enjoy it. I’m talking about the pros. For example: the Olympics. Some of these girls train from childhood to try to compete. And most don’t make it. And it’s even worse for Russian ballet and gymnastics

@@zshakur male cheerleaders are some of the most impressive athletes out there. With his strength and acrobatics Peter Parker would be an amazing cheerleader and it would be interesting seeing him juggle that with superhero duties plus something different from his usual nerdy outsider persona. Look up male cheerleader vids here and you'll be astonished. The rhino (kollin Cockrell not the Spiderman villian lol) is an amazing athlete.

She’s so gorgeous and talented. And now i learn she has a cool personality, a sweet voice and adorable laugh.

15:08 I remember that day. The equipment malfunctioned when the cap on the edge of the beam slipped off when she kicked for the dismount. It was not a pretty sight at all. But the comeback was amazing. I never learned about the broken sternum. Amazing athlete. Love her so much. She is such a source of inspiration for both physical and mental strength. 💪🏾❤😁

She is one of my favorite gymnasts. Everything she has been through, and how she found her place at UCLA. I just really admire her. And I think she's just beyond beautiful in every way, physically and what I perceive of her mentally as well, definitely. ♡

She's like a Powerpuff girl, sugar, spice, and everything nice. That woman is tough as nails and still seems super playful and bubbly at the same time

She was a delight in Uni elite, but most of all, she was THE ONLY ONE in American Championship to ever beat Simone Biles (at her a early career) She could've been even bigger, considering elite gymnastics, but unfortunately, her coach was really hard on her, then she had several injuries and had to retire

I am in love with this woman. I don't even watch gymnastics but whenever I see her name I instantly click, so pretty and she seems to have such a positive emotional effect on everyone around her.

My wife did ballet and also had Russian instructors. The way she summarized it was "if they aren't being mean, they've decided you aren't worth their time".

She has the cutest laugh ever. Great personality too and it shines through.

She has so much humility, a beautiful demeanor while still laughing off a fractured sternum. She's such an inspiration.

So adorable yet she is also so badass having survived everything that she has been through. Love her positivity and sweet personality.

If the “Wolf turn” is considered a difficult and graceful move, why do more gymnasts not go for the breakdance headspin on the beam? Wouldn’t an inverted spin on the head be considered even more difficult and, in my opinion, it looks really impressive and beautiful, almost like ballet. Is the head-spin just against the rules? Or do gymnasts avoid it just because it’s unconventional? Honestly just curious haha.

I imagine that because it falls outside established moves, that not many gymnasts would be able to do it, let alone to the level where they could stick it on a beam. Idk how it would score either, but it would be an incredible thing to see.

The gymnastics federation is sooooo outdated tbh, it is a danger and why there can be such a burnout. Its not just perfection, its that national champions demand Olympic level p e r f e c t i o n. Hair bands falling out is not ok lol

In cheer we’re basically only ever allowed two steps so that all of our passes’ timing is uniform. Generally we either power hurdle or step step hurdle regardless of wether we’re on hard wood or spring floor unfortunately.
