    We live in a weird world. Some of the most useless videos get millions views and informative videos like this one (and many other car detailing videos by experts) hardly get any views. It's sad. I love my car and I always want it looking at it's best. I wish I had a car detailing experts like you who could take care of my car in my part of the world.

    Great review as always. As a detailer my self I can’t imagine how long it would take to do these videos and how you find the time to do them as well as work, family life ect is just beyond me. I think your reviews are by far the best on KZread and I certainly find them insightful. I bought Carpro Cquartz UK 3.0 because of your review on it and am doing my first coating of it on a VS clubsport soon. I’ve since moved detailing products to car pro as I’ve seen your reviews and what you use I’ve found to be good for my business. Thank you for your amazing content and keep it up :)

    I love your honest reviews and how you are sharing your thoughts, Sandro. One thing is to show (which is an absolutely magic in your videos), but another thing is try to direct thoughts in the way you are thinking because of your experience. Unfortunately not all of us are as experienced as you and we are not making same conclusions as you can do automatically, so that's why when you are sharing what you are thinking and why means for us another lesson)))) Great video Sandro, great footage, grate music as usual. And your intro became even more professional by adding the music - I simply love it! Cheers from sunny Sweden.

    This is my first viewing of any video you created and I must say I’m impressed. I truly appreciated your thorough, multi-test and balanced perspective. Your honest perspective, potential weaknesses, and conclusions were extremely helpful. I just purchased this wax and will be giving it a try on my car which only has a spray on quick detailed coating (purchased before viewing). Thank you for taking the time to create this review and I also think your explanation of the investment it takes to create one review. Most people have no idea how long it takes to fully create one well executed video. You do nice work!

    Fantastic video as always Sandro, thank you for providing us with such high quality content!!!! Thing that could explain bad performance of pure+wax section is that Gyeon actually doesn't recommend applying wax to new Evo line until it fully cures for 14 days... When they originally released wax, and with old generation of coating they indeed told "apply it to protect coat while curing", but not with Evo line.... Maybe that would actually change performance... Who knows 😅 all in all, Gyeon Wax from my expirience is great product, and I would highly recommend it... Good application, great smell, nice ergonomics of packaging, incredible water behavior....

    Hi Sandro, agree totally with your conclusion re time given to Pure to cure sufficiantly before applying the wax, I cant think of any other reason than chemical bonding effected both coatings.. Seriously though, Im in love with Pure & am so looking forward to seeing the NSX on the 16th for her first wash. I was fortunate Id been given the time to do what I believed was zero compromise so gave her a week to 10 days then applied multiple coats of CanCoat which delivered a super slick finish. Now I'm caught between a rock & a hard place, the whole experience using Pure was an absolute pleasure but the looks on Imola Orange the cherry was bigger than the cake, how could I now use any of the other coatings sat on the shelf. Take care fella, wishing you success, health & happiness. Mike S ...( now the owner cant stop anywhere as there's always admirers who want to see & talk to him about his car )

    I agree with your experience with it. I personally disliked it as a topper over a coating. As it started to degrade I never had the original performance of the coating back. I will not be using it as a coating topper any more.

    Thanks for a useful and interesting video. Gyeon now recommends not putting their paste wax on top of the ceramic coating until a minimum of 2 weeks when it should have fully cured. This might be because of the issues you have raised in the video. I applied Gyeon Cure on top of my ceramic coating to provide an initial extra layer of protection. Going forward I plan to use Wet Coat as a top up as it's quick and easy to apply.

    In the instructions I got in my box it said to wait at least 14 days before applying Q2 Wax. I assume that you are right that the wax bonded to the uncured coating and caused the failure since you only waited 1 day. Maybe try it with waiting 14 days and see what happens? Thanks for another great video regardless 👍

    As wax over coating issue it may happens for a couple reason. Type of paint and cure time. Gyeon states that you can add a sacrificial layer such as Q²M Cure after 12 hr of coating applied but in this case of a wax being an hybrid formula tends to not let the coating cure as wanted. Personally I preffer not to use toppers on Gyeons coatings as they are awesome resistant to daily contaminants, even more certified ones which I am able to use, but if you are willing to use Wax over it then wait for total cure 7-14 days after. Great video Sandro as always!

    Really good video and I do enjoy using Gyeon wax. I ordered some last March and I got a solid four months protection in the middle of summer here in Nashville. I did machine apply a very thin layer. The hydrophobic behavior was initially close to ceramic level but four months later it was more sealant like and definitely not ceramic like. On new water based paint I did see noticeable gain in reflectivity and depth. The biggest question is cancoat is similar in price and lasts longer. Thank you for this awesome video.

  • @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    2 жыл бұрын

    With Perl I usually dress the trim, wait about an hour and then go back and do a final wipe down. I think if you wait about hour or so after that final wipe you should fine to use Lustre on top. Additionally you could also add Lustre after the next wash.

    @groundcontrol68762 жыл бұрын

    4:22 Dang it Sandro, you ruined my comment! XD In all seriousness though, I've noticed this tends to happen most often with the most hydrophobic and durable paste waxes such as Double Speed Wax, Collinite 476s and the biggest offender but literally my favorite wax of all time: The great Soft 99 Fusso. You can literally just have patches where there is heavy ghosting and it can be so bad that it literally takes like 30+ gloss units off, it'd look almost like a matte patch of clear under certain angles and lighting (like super orange, worn down LPS bulbs). (I've never actually measured it, but it's probably not too far off). I remember having it on my bonnet and it literally didn't even come off with multiple washes, but I didn't care because it's sooo hydrophobic, that it literally beats most coatings in terms of contact angle (at least when initially applied, the beads have contact angles of over 110*, I'd say closer to 120). Fusso was sooo ahead of its time and it really is incredible in all aspects except gloss, but if you didn't get the ghosting, your car looked great, it's not all about the gloss number. It's what kept me from trying coatings for so long (didn't get into them until 2019 and then I was a convert, with UK 3.0). Thank god I have the original formula because they apparently changed Fusso's formula and the new one isn't as good as the original. 10:12 - 10:46 That's been my experience as well, though once I saw the degradation, I knew it wouldn't just be a matter of "washing it off" or topping it back up with wax again as it was my intuition that whatever residue's left over just doesn't come off and "clogs" the coating somehow. I knew the only way to truly bring it back 100% would be to polish and start with a clean slate. This doesn't seem to happen with the lighter spray on stuff like Sonax BSD (great topper for coatings IMO) and of course the ceramic detail sprays and spray sealants. That's one of the reasons why I don't love the word "topper" I don't think it's a matter of the ceramic simply sitting on top of the clear coat creating a complete "plastic wrap" like barrier between it and the atmosphere, and even moreso with the "toppers". I think it's more of a matter of the toppers forming a bond alongside the coating and not really sitting "on top" of it where you have Clear coat, then on top the ceramic coating, then on top of that whatever topper you applied last. Instead I think it's more of like say when you apply a lotion on your skin. Anyway excellent video, I always love how many times your findings are so alike mine and you explain them so well, it's rare for detailers (including the most famous ones) to focus enough to notice all these nuances and also share them with their peers. I'm glad SOMEONE understands me. Cheers Sandro! Edit: Shoutout to Waxmode tho, he gets all this stuff too, too bad he doesn't upload anymore. I could do the same but I can't be bothered to record and edit, I just wanna watch someone ELSE do it XD.
