My father worked in the steel works til they closed, and then we moved the Churchwood Estate a few years after. Nice video!

Thanks, my in laws are down in Churchwood as well. It was a comment about the station that got me wandering down there.
I walk my dogs along there and live on the old Steelworks site. My father in law worked in the Steelworks and its just a great place to live
Hope you can go the other direction, the skew bridges not far from Griffithstown, a railway building still extant in pontypool and a few great walks along old track beds after pontypool.
My home town!!! Learned a lot from this one. Thank you. 👍

So much built on now, but these few bits left.
I worked on Panteg Steelworks heavy end demolition in 2000 for Avesta Sheffield. Brian Jones (Works Manager) and Richie Thomas organised the steam hammer to go into the Car Park. The Council did the base. which was too small. Martin was the guy who ran the rail museum.

Thank you, always good to get a bit of context. It is odd seeing the hammer still there and a Hornby sign on what is now a nursery.
Great video !

Despite living here for over 35 years I still struggle at time with some of the names. Thanks for that. 👍
