Revisiting a few highlighted moments from our Oct '23 session with Montréal Cain!
GWML alum SPHINX DA GOD got things started with our teen social hour at 4pm, with featured eats from Ians Pizza MKE. In correlation with National Depression Education & Awareness Month, our Lab theme was "MeraCares: Music & Mindfulness." At 5pm, GWML Coordinator B~Free led a conversation with Montréal on his vast background as a multihyphenate creative, the founding of MeraCares & how his organization often highlights the correlation btwn mental wellness & the arts as part of their practice in the community. Montréal also shared details on his experience with being on American Idol, shared musical performances & demonstrated key songwriting techniques he's applied to his own music. We then delved into our customary teen open mic, with several youth acts that shared a wide range of talents on stage 🧡

The Music Lab is a FREE monthly music and arts education program and talent accelerator for Greater Milwaukee area high school students! At the Music Lab, students have the opportunity to learn about the music and entertainment industries through featured guests. They are also given the opportunity to collaborate, perform, and build relationships with their peers.
