What a car. Its coming up like Huawei did, not for everybody but offers a lot more than other brands in terms of money. With all that tech, its definitely a trend setter for people that will not be taking their bakkies offroad

I'm going to get one.... Let's give this bakkie a chance.... Black out the front grill and change the rims to lenso 6 spoke 20 inch and this p series will turn heads. Engine... Let's give it a shot... Avi in South Africa Durban

Car in general looks nice, just hope it's not going to be a "big doughnut" as previous GWM vehicles were. It is definitely "budget" in terms of the more established and sought after brands. GWM and Haval must make their vehicles look fancy to get sales. That however does not impress me and probably the majority of bakkie buyers in South Africa. Not a comparison to the range topping Hilux, Ranger and Amarok. It should therefore not be compared to those vehicles. I do not believe buyers innthe higher end of the market would be interested as you simply can't fault the longevity resale value, robustness and quality of the established players.

Hi Daniel. Thanks for watching the review appreciate it. We do hear what you are saying. The established brands like the Hilux has proven itself in terms of reliability and resale value. I myself drive a hilux and am a big Toyota fan. Like mentioned the new p-series still has to prove itself. However we do believe that the p-series is a massive step up from the previous generation steed. Have you taken the p-series for a test drive? We do think GWM made a great effort and improvement. I opted for the Triton instead of the GWM..no doubt the GWM has class leading interior and tech....but for me the proven drivetrain, super select 4WD system and engine of the Triton was my deciding factor....based on the heavilly specced techy car i owned before i used zero of that tech...just the reverse camera and not even the cruise control....

@@Antwan674 triton is great. But remember the entry triton cost around R574 995. Then is is 4x2 manual. The 4x4 manual is R634 995. The p-series double cab commercial line DLX manual 4x4 is R434 900. The DLX Auto 4x4 is R469 900. And the passenger double cab LS 4x4 Auto is R479 900. So you can get a similar spec 4x4 p-series for around R140 000 less than a 4x2 triton. The p-series is an excellent value proposition.

@Richard Prat yep ZF makes solid transmissions...i guess for me will have to wait out the GWM for a few years to see how it all fares

@@budgetoverlander682 yep prices have increased dramatically for the triton this year...retails at 654k now...without any advanced tech i must admit, no sports bar or tub liner....had to get those as extras...all standard in the GWM..its no longer the budget option as its now inching towards the Ford and Hilux although the Hilux has also significantly increased with this new 2021 version... with the GWM it wins hands down with its tech and standard features....no arguments...its the best in class...even interior...i guess it just has prove itself on the rugged offroad capabilities and longevity
