GWM Ora Good Cat 500 Ultra: Is This The Electric Car For You?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Yes there are a number of electric cars out there, but which one truly suits your needs. There are plenty of offerings from Germany and even Japan, but it is the models from China (surprise, surprise) that truly got our tongues salivating. Or have they?
Take the GWM (Great Wall Motors) Ora Good Cat for example. The model you see here is the 500 Ultra, and it comes with a claimed range of 500km's and plenty of goodies. But as per our real world test, you are only going to get a range of about 450km's in the real world and there are other things that make it quite annoying.
But at RM170,000, it is quite difficult to argue a case against it, so let us tell you all the good things and not so great things about the 500 Ultra (not a smart phone) in this video.

You were incorrect , it is a one touch open and close for the sunroof. You should have learnt how to access the shortcuts meaning u don’t need to go through menus . U just swipe right and all shortcuts pop up and if u press the ac button all controls pop up for ac etc . Also the Ora has voice control , u can tell car to open or close windows and sunroof. Also u can just say ur hot and the car will turn on the ac. We also found the iso fix points no different to Toyota or Mazda so not sure why you had an issue . It also has the same Size boot as a mini which GWM are now designing th new ev mini based on the Ora platform All Ora will have local power cables for home charging You were incorrect about the range which is 420kms there is no 500 Km range given with the Ora . There is a 310 Km range and extended range is 420kms The software is very advanced and does not need any updates as yet .

Well done, you know a lot about the car. We had three days with the car, not enough to program shortcuts but anyway basic commands should be accessible without needing a short cut. Agreed that you can use voice commands to open and close the sunroof, but sometimes it is different drivers and passengers that do it, the one-touch open/close feature should be standard and has been in use by car makers since the late 90s and early 2000s. If other car makers can do it then why not GWM? We tried to plug in an actual Chico baby seat and compared it to our company Toyota and Mazda, the Ora one's are horrible and way too difficult for a quick snap in. Yes there is a 500km range given with the Ora for the Malaysian market. Do your homework. The software is horrible and cannot get basic English spelling right. Break instead of Brake? Come on!
