The GGB 100 to me is more rugged looking and actually has more under the bonnet compared to its over priced counter part which is still a quality watch but looks wise and every day rough and tumble work watch I prefer the GGB100 and not being solar is not an issue battery change is no big deal its cheap and quick .

I would have gotten the GGb100 a long time ago as I love the casino app fro travel. It makes it soo easy to adjust and set your dual time on the watch. BUT it doesn't have solar. Sorry but I won't buy a high end casio gshock or Protrek without Solar. 1 changing batteries on Gshocks while maintaining the integrity of the seal is a pain in the ass and even jewelers will charge me extra for them if I take them in. 2 solar is just too handy of a feature. I have a casio solar that's going on 15 years old on the same battery. Yeah you should have to replace them at some point but it makes the watches so much more worry free. I had a non solar gshock go dead on me during a 3 week long fishing trip (bad luck I gues) but with solar watches its NEVER been an issue or a worry that I should think about doing. Yeah I've used autos while fishing but I find things like knowing the barametric pressure and setting alarms for when its good times to fish in the areas I'm in soo handy. Especially since I like to go places you just don't get phone service in mid to northern Canada. And yeah I wear and love Autos. Just not as much as I love solar quartz. And not having phone service in those areas is a good thing to. I treasure going up there to disconnect do some fishing, read some books on my kindle and reconectiung with my Dad. Nobodies bothering us from work and its so bloody peaceful. 😅😅 And yes I know some might not see carrying a kindle as NOT disconnecting but I used to pack 3 or 4 books for reading by the fire and now I can carry thousands and no more reading by flashlight. 😅😅 Of course with new modern Led flashlights like Olight makes that's not really an issue either but I've already gotten way side tracked.

I have the B100 and I thought battery powered wouldn’t be too big of a problem. The battery just died on me a week ago and it was a DAMN problem trying to get it replaced. Couple repair places refused to even touch it. Took it to a battery shop and they took it no problem. But got it back with what looks to be like a couple specs of dust or lint in it. I don’t think they sealed it up correctly. What a mess it is to replace batteries on G-SHOCKS. I’m considering upgrading to solar but I think I’m preferring the GWG-1000. Thanks for your review. I much prefer the GG-B100 due to the functionality of the thing. The barometer displays more data, you can customize the menu for the functions you want and even customize the homescreen to display the functions you want to see at the push of a button instead of scrolling through the modes. Not only that but the connectivity gives it the bonus of sensor calibration and the ability of auto DST of the world time. The GWG-1000/2000 might be well built and all but the usability is a downgrade due to the smart crown and cut down features.

Although they're very similar, people forget that the GWG 2000 isn't just more expensive for the few extra features alone. It's also the build quality. The build quality on the GWG 2000 is superior. People spend insane amount of money on watches which do nothing but tell the time because of the sheer quality of the watches. You can get the same features for a lot less but you're also getting a watch that is built cheaper.

I have a Rangeman and I love it but honestly I don't wear it that much because its so bloody thick even at 17mm. I tend to bump it into things. Namely doorways. I find the 2000 a hell of allot more attractive because they've slimmed it down. At 14.6mm they are approaching Protrek territory and that's fantastic. The new Protrek Prw-60s are thinner and smaller in diameter and so much easier to wear and I hope that's something Casio is paying more attention to on their product lines now. I think the sweet spot for their outdoor watches should be 10-14mm thick unless its something like a Frogman where that depth rating is more important than anything.

Damn the GWG dosen't have sunrise sunset? I love that feature.....I pretty sure its got to be the same module as my Protrek Prw-6600Y-1A9CR now. Which is kinda funny cause I can buy that Protrek in Canada on amazon for $340 Canadian which is over half the price of the GWG 2000 which I can get oin Sakura watches for $740 Cdn....Is saphire, an extra 100m WR and some extra, but probably un-needed, protection worth the extra $400? That does make the titanium PROTREK PRW-70YT-7JF look really attractive again or just a PRO TREK PRW-60Y-1AJF for $200 less...but I do like the dial layout and actual metal pushers on the GWG-2000 though. A buddy lent me his Explorer for a while once to try and convince me to buy one and I really miss those numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9. I'm not sure why but I love that layout on a dial. The simplicity but somehow quick and easy way for my brain to acquire the time from the dial? I was tempted to save up for an Explorer too. But he showed me the maintenance bill when he sent it in for a service last year....I was like getting a bill for a car....no thankyou. It reminded me why I like solar quartz. Autos are cool but....daaamn that's not for me.

Hello Logan thanks for such a detailed comment I'll read your others shortly. I'd absolutely agree its a costly beast for not many features all in all. I guess the cash goes to the technology of making it thinner with that core? No sunrise sunset but you'd need connection to app for that ? But maybe the RC could gather that information? I think a lot of dosh goes to the RC module too. Its great its slimmer than b100 it just fits under some of my cuffs. Let me read your other comments. PS check out my Rolex playlist. I have the Ex 2 Polar its amazing. And that Explorer was on my list then they shrunk it. So fingers crossed for return of the 39mm. Seeing 3 6 9 12 is cool especially lumed

Thats weird. The 2000 seems to have the exact same display as my Protrek Prw-6600Y-1A9CR and the B100 has the same display as my Protrek PRT-B70-2CR (I wanted to try a casino fishing watch with Bluetooth) ... I wonder if it has something to do with the watches being solar or not as the Prw-6600 is solar and the Prt-B70 I picked was a fantastic bargin under MSRP on Amazon despite it being battery operated. The battery operated LCD watches have allot more pixels and can display more info and the solar watches have less info but a green color to the LCD....I wonder if the solar LCD is less of a power drain but on I high end gshock I would like to have more pixels. Well I guess without the need to display info from the Bluetooth app you don't necessarily need more pixels. Hmm.

I think it means the components are assembled in Japan ie the digital bit is all put together in Japan then its sent to Thailand to put the actual movement in the case and add buttons etc etc

Hello that is why I did a specific video on getting the GG b100 .... check it out But unfortunately imo I find the GWG 2000 a much better watch and had to returnmy 100 indeed I trued a second which is similar and didn't get on with that either.

This is not an apples to apples comparison. Comparing the the gwg-1000 to the gwg-2000 would be more valid. You could effectively make this exact video by comparing the ggb100 to the gwg-1000. This here is pointless. At 5:38 You literally say the watch gets the time from your watch. Way to go wunderkind!

Hello its me. Yes I'd agree but I can only use what I have. I don't have a 1000 & just so happened to have the b100. I think if you watch closely you will see a note on the screen with the words "phone" as I believe I spotted that in editing and corrected in post production. If not it should be a simple deduction to deduce I meant phone. We can't all be experts nor get our hands on loads of other watches. But I appreciate the time you took to write your comment. Hopefully you subscribe and support my channel moving forward with constructive criticism ;)
