Thank you, I recently purchased this awesome watch and I wouldn’t have figured out most of the altimeter and comp functions without your very instructive video, you made it look easy but it’s not if you don’t know how to do it, one thing is the manual another watching someone do it so 👍👍👍👍...

Just watched both videos with my new watch in hand to completely set it up. There are some fiddly functions I won’t be using much or at all, but you explain it very well and I look forward to seeing what functions I’ll be using on my new timepiece. Thank you for explaining so clearly- it really helped a lot.

Once again thanks for this informative video (part 2). Naturally I watched 'part 1' which really helped and and mentioned how tough it was deciding between the gwg-1000 and gwg-2000. I also commented on the temperature feature, but I should've mentioned that here instead as it was covered in part 2 here (therefore removed and have put here below). The gwg-2000 is undoubtedly an incredible watch which has a great design and use of materials. The solar feature, radio clock accuracy, compass, barometer and certain other features all work great and I feel that I don't wish to mention any negative points - however there are undoubtedly some drawbacks which I feel I should mention all the same. The temperature feature and altimeter are far from great and it is recommended not to be too dependant on the alarms which are barely audible if not at all in environments with some noise (and they only sound for 10 seconds in order to conserve power). Admittedly, the temperature feature is probably the more frustrating and potentially unreliable feature of the watch and one has to decide whether to calibrate it once it has been taken off and not 'worn' by the user for at least 30 minutes or more, so that the watch unit itself has aligned with the surrounding environment's temperature in order to then set it to a reference thermometer to hand that's also in the same environment (this is the method described in the Casio manual for calibrating the temperature). This would mean that every time you want a reasonably accurate temperature reading, you would have to take off the watch and place it on its own somewhere suitable that is also not affected by other non-ambient temperatures which may upset the location environment's temperature. However once the watch is worn again by the user, then the temperature will never properly reflect the true surrounding environment's temperature, as it will be a combination and mix of transmitted body heat from the user wearing it directly through one's arm to the watch (conduction), plus any trapped air-pocket heat between clothes/jacket sleeves and the wearer's body (convection) and of the surrounding environment's temperature - possibly rendering the Temp feature quite useless. In my brief experience, the temperature becomes un-accurate to between 5 and 11 deg C. Or the user could opt for calibrating the temperature once the watch has been worn for a while and when the user is roughly at normal rest/normal casual activity, in order to bring the watch up to its influenced temperature from being 'worn', before calibrating it to match a source reference for the temperature in the surrounding environment reading. However surface body temperature can further change it more from exercising or other physical exertion. This makes the temperature feature a bit of a novelty and quite useless (unless one is happy taking it off and waiting the required time, every time). One would have thought in this the 21st Century that there maybe some technologies to overcome this, especially at the 700 price tag. Also while the Barometer appears to be quite stable and reliable, the Altimeter requires frequent calibration even at the same location (even when just staying at the place you live). Swapping the world City time with the Home time (by holding down the display button for a few seconds) strangely keeps/retains the "HT" hone time indicator in the digital display when instead it would have made sense to display the selected world city time initials. Also does anyone struggle to see the digital display at night with tired eyes or if you momentarily wake up during the night? Personally I find that the LED light blasts the bottom number "6" numeral on the clock face to such an extent, that the number six beams out like a light bright light itself thus blinding you from being able to see the digital display immediately above the number six. This is no doubt because the LED is virtually sitting on the number 6 numeral. I would have liked a dedicated white LED lighting up the digital display and a UV LED to make the phosphorous coatings shine and for the UV LED to have been mounted between hour markers so that there's less blocking it. Still, its a great watch!

Great review and tutorial. But, for the record, the difference between true north and magnetic north is called "variation." Certain nautical and aeronautical charts will display this variation in various geographic locales in the form of "isogonic" lines of variation. Deviation, in the old days, is the difference error between magnetic north and the ship/airplane's compass reference to magnetic north.
