I and my wife met her briefly in Miami years ago she got us into a big club during a music festival that my wife wanted to go to just because she is nice. Funny thing is that when we saw her, my wife said it was her, and I did not believe it because I always pictured her as very tall, and she's actually quite short. I told my wife, "She's definitely gorgeous, but she's way to short to be Gwen - probably just a fan." She turned around in this little alley, and as soon as I got a good, direct look at her face, I knew I was wrong. She said, "I like the gorgeous thing, but I'm not tall, and your girl is right." Then she asked what we were doing in that alley, and we told her we were on vacation, could not get in that club and were just starting to wander around looking for something else to do. She took us to a side door, told the bouncer we were with her, she went backstage, and we went into the club.

I'm 5' 11", and she was shorter than me even in those boots, which would put her about average height for a woman.

It’s quit amazing to see off screen, stage, set, wherever how off camera perception others height, size, whatever is revealed. My coaches & mentors appeared very tall until I earned time to be around them. I’m 6’1” & as tall or taller than most of them. The short ones...musicians, professionals...look out for those. Driven souls. Elite & Prestigious comes to mind. My wife is 5’2” 98lbs. On a platform alone looks way taller. The mind is a dangerous place to visit. I did meet Muhammad Ali in 1974 in an elevator he stepped into the elevator at The Fontainebleau Hotel, Miami Beach. I was 18 at the time lived in same hometown Louisville. At 6′ 3″, 236 lbs, Ali filled up the space with his kindness, gestures, and goodwill. Super humble. Taught me right there to reach for humility daily. My Dad was super humble as well. He was a quiet riot. A doer not a talker. Two towering men as bookends. All the best people in 2021. Get after it.

Gwen is such a beautiful human being and Blake is the same. It makes me so happy these two found each other as friends who supported each other during a very hard time in their lives then friendship turned into a deep love for one another. Ive said it before and I'll say it again Blake and Gwen are my generations Jonny and June

@@theyredistortingyourrhythm I push vaccines also because my 35 year old son is in the hospital with corona. He isn't on a ventilator but he had pneumonia from it so his lungs hurt & he's on oxygen. They say he should pull through but only God knows the outcome. He was very vocal about not wearing a mask, not getting a vaccine & he felt we were scared for nothing because most people don't die. He hated what the media did with this virus. You have to watch what you say out loud. Bragging that the virus is nothing to worry about makes God want to show you that He's in charge. Satan likes you to talk that way... he knows you're on his side when you talk like that. God on the other hand doesn't like us to act like we don't need Him. He wants us to rely on Him & wants us to not be prideful. "Pride cometh before destruction". So my son is paying the price & if you didn't get a vaccine, in my opinion you're an idiot. Just like if your mom didn't take you as a child to get vaccinated for measles, mumps, rubella...etc... if we have a shot that keeps you from getting one of the killer corona's THEN DO IT. YOU'RE BEING STUPID IF YOU DON'T! If you don't get that vaccine you may as well not take your children for any of their shots either. A lot of people never thought about NOT getting their helpless baby their vaccines!!

I’m from SoCal and am 51, too, and have such great “Rock of the 80’s”, then the 90’s, KROQ memories from that time. If one of our favorite “alternative” bands we’re being interviewed, we’d race to the station to wait outside the booth to get their autographs. All the DJs were so nice to us. We were nuts for Depeche Mode, but No Doubt was a local band to us, and we adored them. And those relatively small-scale KROQ events they mentioned are so memorable.

@@littleraskle Yes, they totally wanted to connect the audience to authentic artists. KROQ had a lot of legendary DJ’s, like a truly knowledgeable and hip pre-MTV Carson Daly. Such a good person. And Rodney Bigenheimer, a soft-spoken and earnest guy, with great taste who would get artists w/o a record deal on the air, and knew every new band. David Bowie said of Rodney, “Every time I want to know what’s happening in the London club scene, I call Rodney Bigenheimer in Los Angeles.”

I love Gwen and Blake together. They are so sweet and very cute. Opposites do attract. You can always show each other new things in life. I think that is so much fun.

The video “Slow Clap” was filmed at my son’s high school Verdugo Hills in Tujunga. He told me weeks ago, that his school friend saw Gwen Stefani & Ice Cube at his school, making a video. I watched the video the other day, but I didn’t see Ice Cube in the video.

I don't do celebrity crushes but she broke the mold!! LOL!! I was going through a break up and didn't know I was hurting till my boys said "Yo, you been playing "Don't Speak" for a few months now! You need to talk!??" LMMFAOOO!! and Blake would be my Lex Luthor but he seems cool as fykk. One Love,........ everyone!!!

Albums originally didn't come out all at once, usually. The old 78 rpm shellac records from the 30s and 40s could only fit one or two songs on them, a main song and a b side. This was called a single. An album was a physical album that you put all the singles in as they came out. I used to have one of those old record players. They were huge and you had to wind them up. In the cabinet were all these albums you could flip through to find a song you wanted to play.

Wow, thanks for that info! I’ve been wondering many times why it is called an “album.” I found it obvious that it’s a collection of songs that might or might not have been released as singles. But now its clear that the “long player” is “long” because of the increased play time compared to the 78 RPM single.

In the 90's I had two kids and added a child in 1997 & in the 90's I only had time to listen to music in the car (going to work & back) but I would listen to country stations or Christian. So I'm just starting to listen to No doubt. I was a Blake fan since The Voice started up so I have to familiarize myself with both of them. I loved Blake on The Voice & when they added Gwen I really didn't know her music or anything about her. I remember her being in the Hollywood news that her husband Gavin was sleeping with their nanny & my heart went out to her immediately. Gwen is an amazing woman & she deserves a devoted loyal man & I believe they will be that for each other. I'm so happy for both of them. I grew up on state college Blvd in Anaheim so we come from the same neck of the woods & I plan to listen to No Doubt right now!! Gwen, we're old neighbors probably!! Lol. ❤👍🙏 ... 🎶and the beat goes on... drums keep pounding in a rhythm to the brain...a lottie dottie dee a lottie dottie dah.🎶 name that tune... if you can!?

People rarely stay exactly the same as they were in their 20’s well into their 50’s. It’s called growth. Ska may be your favorite style, but it’s unfair to call her a sellout simply because she wanted to do something different creatively. People feel stifled doing the same things all of the time, especially creative people. Many good musicians experiment with multiple sounds and genres. It’s perfectly fine to say I prefer ska Gwen or I miss ska Gwen, but calling her a sellout is a stretch and unnecessary.
