Love this style of video man! Really appreciate the commentary and breakdown of your playstyle as well. Rev has always been a class I struggled with (trying condi Malyx/Glint herald atm) and so seeing a player good with the build who talks through it is really insightful!

Great video. Something that I discovered recently is that you might want to consider dropping song of the mists for roiling mists. They buffed roiling mists to now give you +20% extra crit chance when you have fury. Since you have perma fury that is a lot of extra damage. Then take Zakiros relic instead of antitoxin to take full advantage of your 90% crit chance and perma fury to receive solid passive healing whenever you do damage.

@@parvizkanga5122 hey yes that's a strong alternative, a good friend of mine has been using something similar to that with great success! I'm pretty much married to somg of the mists though. I personally love the quickness when swapping into shiro. Just my personal preference

Have you thought about making a match-up table for the more common specs? It can take time and be tricky to find out whether you're a bad match up against a particular spec, or a player was just that much better than you.

So I've played rev for a couple of months (mainly vindicator), could you tell me what you find appealing about herald over vindicator?

Gladly! I like the increased movement speed that herald offers. Rising momentum + the super speed from the elite facet make it possible to get around the map very quickly. Add in the sword 5 teleport and you can cover a large distance in a short time. Feels fun to zoom around the map. The additional CC that herald has over vindicator (elite facet) can turn the tide of a fight and shut down certain classes. The herald heal is a very satisfying skill to use and can be used to disrespect certain classes burst combos. Compared to vindi which must clunkily cycle between 3 healing skills for 10 seconds in order to heal. Also the herald skills just look and sound cool when you use them

mainly a pve player but this kind of video was informative and fun to watch.

Do you think side noding or team fighting are more important in the current meta? I usually play sides, but team fights seems so strong right now.

@@thehallmonitor4515 I think it's highly dependent on the map. Small maps with important side objectives like skyhammer are all about the team fight. Bigger maps which are dominated by fast roamers can really be played well by a tanky side noder. I think if I had to give a general answer, carrying team fights is probably more likely to win you ranked games. But a strong side noder can definitely win games. Especially if you win outnumbered fights.

wow I haven't done spvp since primordial was a thing. Plat is all you need now to get to like top 10?? Is there no more diamond rank or anything higher or did they just scuff the ranking system?

@@Velakor9150 This was made at the very start of the season. The ranks get higher as the season goes on and more people complete placements. Toward the end of the season you need to be high Plat or legend (the rank above plat) to be top 10

Seen someone using sword offhand yesterday destroying people. Is it better to run over shield?

For most power builds I'd recommend offhand sword as the best pick. I do like the shield on condi herald though!

Thanks! The really cool thing about PVP in GW2 is that gear and level literally do not matter at all. It's 100% based on your ability to cook up builds, and your personal skill! Which I love! You can jump in on a level 1 character and have the same stats as me! So jump in and try it out some time

@@maxu4615 oh man I tried WVW roaming recently again. The average roamer isn't scary in a duel, but they just wait until they have numbers advantage and 5v1 you. And then they throw crap on your body and whisper you LOL. I swear PVP isn't even half as toxic 😭

@homage3 I mean it is wvw, so the name implies a huge free for fall, but I just don't have the patience to deal with brainrot cele builds that'll throw a 250 stack of siege on you 💀, it might even be more enjoyable to try out core rev in pvp since it's more controlled😂. The state of wvw is heavily in favor of kiting or bunker builds anyways.

That's a good question, because as a damage dealer the enemy team's job is to shut you down so that you can't deal your damage. If they're doing that, then they are playing well. How you can avoid that is by keeping an eye on your minimap and staying near your team. You can outrun almost anything with your movement speed on herald, so you need to drag people who are chasing you into your team so you can deal with them as a group. Once you have team mates present try to land some CC skills to sway the fight / set up kills.

Now im expecting you to get a prince of the arena title this season

@@TheOverSoul93 there are a bunch of F2P PVP builds that are actually quite strong! I've considered trying to make an F2P video for revenant... but in order to play revenant you need heart of thorns! So there isn't really an F2P way to play it.

Learned alot. That hammer just rounds up ur ability to do more damage very nicely. More value to revs role as dps/roamer. Staff lets u survive better but overall less damage. Have u tried gs/hammer

I have tried the GS/Hammer combo. Definitely very strong and pumps big damage in teamfights, the GS 4 block is also nice in team fights. Can't go wrong with either IMO GS/Hammer - better in big team fights Dual Swords/Hammer - better at running around the map and quickly securing kills

@@maxu4615 The only few weaknesses are with this build that if you get a lot lf weakness condition on you without having resistance, your damage goes down. And self sustain in general goes down too + when trying it on tankier targets because less outgoing is less incoming. Imo I don't like the way anet is making renegade available for pvp 😅. Because the real problems why it was this long really bad is still mechanically there if they rip this bandage plaster off if it "would" get nerfed.

@@khxweichafe7246 So just to be clear, the only reason I was that high is because it was the 2nd day of the season, and most of the top players hadn't finished their placement matches yet. I believe I'm sitting somewhere near 15 on the board now, which will continue to go down as more people complete their placements.
