I don't know why I love dis song so bad but I just do. I'm an American born to parents of Afro-Guyanese descent. I love chutney in general just as I love all my West Indian music but dis song does just mek me go wild. I love the arrangement, how he sing it and he speaking the truth. the song "O Maninga" is a Guyanese Poltical song that was sung by Nisha Benjamin. The song talks about the opression of the Indo-Guyanese community when Burnham was in control(An example: he banned all kind of Indian food items like flour, which can make roti). This song then was sung my Kanchan. Even to this day the Indo-Guyanese community in Guyana is still being oppresed.

What the hell is with all the arguing, where is the love?!? Why do people from guyana don't like trinis? We should stick together if anything. There is good and bad in any country regardless. I have met some of the most ignorant trinis and guyanese, and some of the nicest guyanese and trini. I strongly believe we should let any indifference stand between the countries, and at end of the day all we have is ourselves and what we stand for, and what we contributed to this earth.

TerminatingIdiots, I have no idea if it's suppose to be a continuation of "O Maninga," but from what i see it seems so. DJ Prakz chose a political based song and talked about the current condition Guyana was in. Anyways i totally agree with you this song can never come close to how Kanchan sang the original piece. I still consider her the Queen of Chutney even though she died. Her voice was soo beautiful. She took Indo-Guyanese folk songs and made them really popular.

Guyanese culture is different from Trinidad, Only Guyanese lovers will tell you it is the same as Trinibago. Guyanese whant it to be the same by doing, whatching what trini people do.
