From someone who currently has 6 rescue dogs and one rescue Maine Coon cat, this young lady is amazing! Living in the country means lots of dogs dumped on the roads. We've had as many as 8 dogs. We try to find them forever homes but if they can't be adopted, they have a wonderful life with us on 21 acres of pasture and woods. Love what you do!

During the 4 months of working with the rescue and Lauren (the girl in the video besides me) , I kept telling her … I don’t know how you’re gonna do this… . Part of me didn’t want to take him just for the simple fact that I didn’t want to cause her heartache by taking him away ! But much like an open ended adoption with human babies, I have kept in constant contact with her and the rescue and I send pics, videos , updates, etc. so he’s never far way and they are welcome to see him any time they want to ;)

That is an incredible transformation. You’d never guess he looked like that as a healthy dog

Great leash action!!!! OMG! One try, you had him. Thank you for the rescue! The girl that fostered him - use one of your wings to wipe away your tears. You did a great job! 🐾♥️🐾

Simba had to get his confidence up. It's wonderful to see the foster mom put so much time and effort into helping Simba with his trust issues. Now, he's a more relaxed, comfortable, and happy dog. Great work!

Thank you for saving Simba and giving him a good home where he is loved.

I literally gasped out loud when the pic flashed of Simba with his coat grown in. I wasn't expecting anything THAT beautiful! Foster people have an amazing balance of compassion and strength. She took this broken little guy and spent months helping him become his beautiful happy self, then she let him go to his loving family. I cried with her, for Heaven's sake. It takes a very special person. ❤

Yes. Lauren is very special . We have stayed in contact since my adoption of Simba and I often send her pictures and videos (some of which appeared in this video) :) I told her that Simba can come stay with her for a little overnight slumber party anytime she wants :)

Simbas trauma will never fully be healed and he will retain some of his issues for the rest of his life. That’s why he was considered a “special needs” adoption. But the work they did to even make him adoptable should not be discounted by any means. The work they did was extraordinary and I’m so thankful to them because it’s that work that allowed me to be able to bring him into my home as a member of the family and I continue to work with him every day to build upon what they had done with him. But it was important to them that I understood , as his forever home , that his issues would not just magically disappear , and that if I was looking for a “perfect dog”, then Simba was not the one for me. But I DID understand these things and accepted Simba for who he is . Challenges and all.:)

You genuinely make my life better, truly lift my heart. I am now old, no, really old, and cannot do anything more than raise small funds for small local rescues. Your work is what counts, a dog when becoming part of a family happily pledges its life, companionship, therapy, no matter what your circumstances might be. I have met few people that have the character of a dog, where love and care come first.

You are an angel, that poor dog was terrified and in a bad way and look how much work you put in, he's a lucky boy.

I wish we had the patience and love for each other. There are people that have been traumatized that are fearful and avoidant and they need to be rescued too. I’m one of them. Nobody has the patience to stick with me though. This is how I connect to the world.

This girl that rescued him is amazing to bring him back to life like that. And great caring family. World needs more people like these.

A beautiful and moving story. The rescuers of Simba are truly virtuous humans.

Great. I have to leave for work now after crying my eyes out. What wonderful people who rescue dogs that most of us would be afraid of based on their appearance. You truly saved a life and enhanced the life of the new owner. So happy when I see the good things in this world!
