Agreed. It's a terrible idea to propose in front of family. A proposal should be a personal moment, and the added pressure of family means the girlfriend had no choice but to say yes. Regardless of whether she wanted to or not, it's a really terrible idea.

@@mdee391 Fair, but I don’t think it was meant to feel “serious” but more like a thanksgiving prayer or toast in the beginning and then turn into a surprise proposal at the end. If he had turned directly toward her and given her direct eye contact as suggested, it probably would’ve tipped her off that this was a proposal and ruined the surprise of it as well as possibly putting him in the way of the camera and missing her reaction and the whole point of filming. But even despite attempting to keep the casual feel in order to save the surprise for the very end, he turns his head towards her _nearly the whole time,_ almost painfully awaiting her to just turn her head slightly to make eye contact and acknowledge him talking _to her_ and _about her_ and she just gives this guy nothing, LOL. I had to watch it twice I was so confused about it. I legit thought she was a family member or friend, lol! It’s like she was not fully present until the very end. I mean, serious occasion or not, when the person you love is addressing a whole room and telling the whole room how great you are and everything you’ve done, you look over at them, lol! You smile, wink, giggle, hug them.. _SOMETHING_ in their general direction?! You wouldn’t just stare off into space or nod in a disinterested fashion(?!??) I almost wonder if she was mad at him about something prior to this toast (maybe he was acting weird towards her all day with pre proposal jitters or being around his family and “protective sisters” he mentioned in the beginning was tiring for her ?!?) and she just “could not with him” in that moment, but, yeah, I def thought her reaction was both weird and very slow in coming... I know if my honey, friend or family member was talking about me sweet, I’d be blushing and smiling at them:) but that’s just me (and everyone I think, lol) But, hey! I hope they’re happy together and all their days cause that’s all that matters:)
