Gutter Guard by Gutter Glove

I was gifted a single box of Gutter Guard to go into the back of the house gutters. I thought that I would get these installed and share with you my experience. After several rains I can say that they pass rain just fine. And there are no leaves stuck in the gutters.

Why no screws or overlap between the gutters?

Not professionally installed, but I love your video, man. You don't pretend to be a pro. It's fun to watch. After seeing your video, I'm gonna buy this product and install it on my gutter. Thanks for sharing.

Love the videos and I'm Looking forward to the future update on how well they worked. I removed similar ones from my inlaw's house after a few years because they did a poor job shedding the tree debris. Every year I still had to clean them off or else the water overtopped the debris instead of going into the gutter. finally they dented enough from the weight of wet leaves year after year to become useless and had to be removed.

Interesting! We shall see how these last. They seem strong. We also don't have many leaves here.

Sorry but this not how you install these properly. The instructions specifically say when you join two pieces together to cut the metal lip so that the mesh overlaps each other. You have gaps between sections and that will cause all kinds of problems for you in the future. Also, I wouldn't recommend using the adhesive. Keep the strip on there and run three self tapping screws per section. This is in case you have to remove them in the future for asphalt pebble clean out.

I put these on my house back in the spring and love them. I’ll have to clean some leaves off my roof once they start falling but that’s due to the slope of the roof. The brush they make to clean the guards off works well too

I have a Question about Ram pumps i have seen your videos on siphon started ram pumps and i have also seen your video's on underwater ram pumps and it has me wondering if you connected one or more bell siphons to a ram pump would you be able to draw in enough water to run the ram pump underwater with the waste water feeding back into the reservoir that the bell siphons are drawing from?

  • @LandtoHouse

    @LandtoHouse

    3 жыл бұрын

Sadly no. The water will always end up in the lowest point from the waste valve. The pump does gain head pressure as you sink it underwater but also gains hydrostatic pressure. These two negate each other.

Looks to me that the screen portion should overlap so leaves can't go between sections. I was wondering if the instructions said to clean the gutters so the adhesive will stick?

  • @LandtoHouse

There is a small overlap that can be used to close the gap. I did not do an awesome job at that. So far the adhesive is doing great!

I’ve got apprx 250 ft of that guard and just haven’t gotten around to installing it. I did temporarily put up one piece last spring and I was not happy with the amount of debris it kicked onto our back deck (shingle granules mostly) I think I’m only going to install it in places where it’s hard to reach to clean and places that the gutters aren’t hanging over our back deck. I may end up giving some of mine away as well lol

@Austin B -You Want a Small Sized Screening to do Exactly that. Kick off the Shingle Debris so it Doesn’t go into your Gutter, just the Water.

@@davemi00 oh I agree, I just wasn’t happy with the debris on our deck when I have easy access to the gutter for cleaning. If all my gutters overhung the yard it wouldn’t be such an issue but those granules don’t feel well under my feet on the wood deck. I’m lucky that my roofline is broken up enough that I can isolate where I want the gutter guards to be and not be without negating their effectiveness

A Quality Screening Should Shed Off the Shingle Debris. Otherwise that will eventually Fill Up and Slow water in the Gutters. Causing Heavy Rains to pour out and Over the Gutters.

Hopefully Seth wiped down the gutter edge before he attached em. Honestly with as much that gets pushed under the shingles, I’d be surprised if they moved much even without screws. I tested one piece on my house earlier in the year and didn’t even tape it down, never moved. Guess it all really depends on the amount of wind

@@bufkinmanor the amount of heat gradient that it will experience daily will have an affect on the sticky. I don't trust 3M to do its job anymore but yeah tucking it under the shingles seems to pin it down pretty well.
