Its driving me crazy how much this riff resonates with me, it's the best thing I've ever heard, it's so nostalgic it reminds me of a good time when I was little with my parents and sister on the beach when times were better, I pray to touch someones life like this when I finally make a song

I hate it. the only true guitarist to his songs in my opinion is John Petrucci, he delivers live what you hear on the records and then he improvises, that's what I like. Govan is more like "let's rewrite the song" :D

These fusion/prog guitarists doesn’t simply express sorrow, chagrin, or euphoria. They give you the whimsical feelings that you’ve never experienced. Wave reminded me of the planet where high gravity led to huge tides in Nolan’s Interstellar.
There's really no word to describe how great his playing is... It's truly mindboggling.

What is all this blashemy?!?! John Petrucci is officially guitar Jesus. ;) Seriously. This is kick ass. I actually don't get of on shredding like, say, Yngwie Malmsteen that much anymore. I think people like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and also this guy have it right. The shredding parts are just the occasional filler and there are real musical ideas, mostly.

I’m obsessed with the intro. Its smoothness, melody and phrasing. Totally mesmerizing.
Since Vinnie Moore, I never felt the same charm for a guitar virtuoso... one of the most beautiful phrasing I ever heard.

Some of the best phrasing I've heard has been from Guthrie Govan, George Lynch, Eric Johnson and Vivian Campbell. They're all truly masterful.

Amazing technique, sublime phrasing, flawless interpretation....I can only gaze with awe....I have seen many guitarists in my life span but you Sir have been "the greatest" influence in my musical indulgence. People may argue about his style of playing or call him a mere shredder but I can only feel sorry for them as to not being able to hear the blended melodies which eventually sprouts as one beautifully woven musical brilliance. Meeting him once holds the top stack of my bucket list!
A complete and total understanding of an instrument is an absolute pleasure to watch.

CitizenDemon watching his strings bend amazes me, they look like they bend so fluidly but when I try and bend a whole step up, I have to really pull hard haha, and he makes it seem effortless. A testament of Guthrie’s playing
This guy is ridiculous. Didn't no one tell him that it's imposible to do that? Seems like he spend months choosing this notes but it's an improvisation.

Probably the most expressive song ever written on guitar.
As with any music there has to be a foundation which is the chord progression and melody. Once you lose sight of that it is nothing but noise. The bass in this video does a great job of keeping the foundation going. The guitar does a great job at improvising and coming back to the melody. Great video!

His brain must work at a different speed to most guitarists, improvising with quintuplets at that tempo is ridiculous.

one more reason for the bends to be easy are the stainless steel frets, a standard feature on all suhr guitars
