    Well Q C don't know if you've heard regret 9, by Steven Wilson but I gotta tell you Guthrie smokes it, it's one of the greatest solos I've ever heard probably ever next to Hendrix so on that note if you were bleeding well that means you're in the groove, on that note again try Billy Gibbon's 7 gauge fantastic Just Jack your boost up on your amp and it'll make up for the difference in thickness on the sound he swears by it, You'll never bleed again ! You'll be bending those strings to another dimension, I use them on my Strat I will never use any thing else 🎸👀👍

    I searched for this backing track not expecting to find it, thank you so much for making it. This song has one of the best solos I've ever heard, so I'm transcribing it for my own pleasure (no sustainiac pick up though, so just an interpretation), and having a backing track to play it with is a real bonus. Seriously well done!

    So trying to figure out the solo i noticed that it seems to be in B minor scale. Just jamming in B minor fits very well with this track. Why is that? Why does that work?

  • @_idarx

    @_idarx

    Жыл бұрын

    The B minor scale is a relative scale to many other scales and modes that work well on this backing track. It's made with the same notes than E dorian, D ionian (=DMaj scale) and A lydian. So, as you thought you were playing the B minor scale over each chords, you were actually switching modes and you were probably instinctively adjusting the root note so it would fit the chords : ex : you were playing E dorian over the Em chord and probably played around the E more than around the B I'm a bit late to answer your question but I hope this is useful anyway :)

    It's E minor, but the A major turns it into a more E dorian thing because of the C#. Then the Amaj7 adds a G# in the mix, so you could play E major or A major

    @wilsonsguitarlounge8244

    Georgi Gyovchev yeah, after I played with it a bit I realized it doesn’t really work that well. What I usually do now is I start with just Emin for the Em and C chords, and then on the A and Amaj7 I use E Dorian. But I’ve also found that there are a lot of other options you could use at certain parts in the chord progression, I’ve used Emaj, Amaj, and Dmin at different parts, depending on where you place them it can sound good still.
