It’s about to become much more dangerous in CA. Now they want to make it so certain “robberies” are misdemeanors, like if you don’t have a weapon. But how will you know? How would you know if someone was simply pretending to have a weapon? It would be just as traumatic. Hope it does not pass.

They do! MILDEW grows on the RINGS formed by the two rolls of tape. The mildew growth makes them unusable.

The prosecutor who entered that arrest warrant is probably dead. She needs to require that she see her accusers (Blockbuster employees) or have the case dismissed. Same thing like a traffic ticket.

I bought one for $5 at goodwill! Watched several vhs movies with my youngest grandbaby this past weekend 😁 Finding Nemo, Neverending Story and Cinderella! Yes, I have them on dvd...but my dvd player is broke. Go figure!

The last Blockbuster left in America is STILL open in Bend, Oregon. Even the last one in Alaska had closed. If you have any bad Blockbuster karma deal with them.

I went to gamestop and they had a game I wanted, but it was used. I wanted the new one, but caved. I took it to the counter and they said they didn’t have it in stock. No joke. I was like,” wait how do you have a used game for sale, but don’t have it in stock??” They literally said we don’t have the disc. Me: “Wut”

It means somebody there wanted it and was holding it back. You got duped but there's nothing you could have done about it anyway. You can't make them give you the disk, lol. They're not allowed to do such things which is why they still had the game displayed like it was for sale.

This happened to me in 1989!!! I was arrested and had to bond out......months later, I received a check for my bond in the mail, and charges were dropped!!! The movie was SID AND NANCY, and it was destroyed in a fire at my house

This has happened before. My mother in law has a felony conviction for not returning 3 tapes after her local blockbuster closed its doors. For some reason the judge "made an example" of her.

Almost 30 years ago, I got transferred out of State for my job. I signed up for cable TV. 3 months later I moved again. I thought everything was good, even used the same cable provider a couple of times in the passing years. Over 20 years later, I can't get service from the same company I had at this point been using for 10 years? I suddenly owe them $800. They bough the local company I had been using when I moved 30 years ago. I never returned the cable box they say. I get into the 10 minute meaningless conversation trying to use reason and logic with the associate on the phone and finally they say they will get a manager. That person gets on the phone, we talk about 2 minutes and he is laughing and says yeah don't worry about it, they are deleting the charge. $650 in interest when I was using the same company for decades and nobody told me I owed them money?!

How does the audience know when you laugh? Do they just guess when there's a punchline?

I have 6 Blockbuster DVDs...Free me! 😂

I was in jail with a chick who was doing some months for shoplifting a $5 purse from a store like 10 years prior as a teen. She even went in to pay it but the store wasn’t even open anymore, yet they spent tax payers money to also transfer her from Detroit to central Michigan cause Detroit was too crowded... allll over a $5 purse!

Ages ago I had a video store that said i wasn't allowed to rent there unless i paid over $2000 in late fees for a movie that was rented by someone at the address i gave. The movie was "not another teen movie" and it was rented several years before that. When i pointed out they likely moved ages ago, she didn't care. She wanted that money...so i calmly told her there wasn't a realm of existence preposterous enough for that to happen. She threatened to sue me...for living in a house that someone at some point scammed her out of a $20 dvd from...that store was out of business a couple years later.

A statute of limitations exist for a reason. I have all sorts of VHS tapes with blockbuster video stickers on them, I got from Salvation army. They are suppose to get your credit card info to charge you for the disk/ tape when you don't return it.

I will write Kat a letter everyday while she is in prison.

She now must surrender any firearms and isn't eligible to any 2nd amendment rights.

Gutless.

Most thrift stores are giving their VHS tapes away for free. Almost all of the movie rental businesses are out of business. This entire story is ludicrous.

I couldn’t find the Tarzan Greystone tape so I went to the store to pay for it. They said keep looking, and looked at each other knowingly. I insisted I looked everywhere and gave them the seventy-five dollars. Then I found the tape under the car seat where my impish son had hidden it. I believe the store knew they were about to liquidate all assets, and were sworn to secrecy. They kept my security deposit as well, fifty dollars. That’s a hundred, twenty -five dollars for the movie I didn’t like the first time.

I was arrested for "suspicion of mischief"....

wonder what the crime and fine is for not bringing back those 16oz. returnable glass bottles....

Is that all? A school friend borrowed one of my dad's encyclopaedias in 1980 and I never got it back...

Someone on the show asked if overdue library books are treated the same way and it reminded me of an episode of the tv program, “Cheers “in which Woody Harrelson’s character discovers library fines. Pretty funny stuff.

I had a similar Blockbuster experience but it was only for a few months. I had temporarily moved and it wasn't until I got to my new apt. and unpacked that I saw it was still in the dvd. When I took it back to the store, the fine was huge, so I just had to pay for the cost of the dvd.

I bought a SONY, VCR, with no remote, at a yard sale, in 1985, it worked until 2018, when it swallowed a tape, and went 'VORP' and died! Took it to an electronics repair shop, and when he took the cover off, he said Uh-Oh, and showed me a sticker, that said "Property IRS - Training Branch". We called the FBI, and they sent me to IRS Inspectors, at a District Office. They checked surplus Disposition records, and found it, and about 400 others had been auctioned as obsolete, the late 70's! Nobody knew someone put ID Tags INSIDE ! THAT could have caused a FEDERAL CRIME CHARGE.

We are all criminals 😭
