Guru Mere Jaan Praan By Soami Ji Maharaj with Translation in E/H/P

Shabads are hymns or spiritual poems written by saints and mystics from different spiritual traditions of the Indian subcontinent. The shabads convey a deep message of truth and are sung with heartfelt devotion. They express the intense longing of the soul for union with the Lord. These songs of devotion are prayers that inspire the true seeker to turn inwards to contact the ultimate Truth - the inner divine music that reverberates within every being.
The Master is the breath of my life - my very life;
he has bestowed on me the gift of Shabd.
Shabd is my support;
I have realized the profound mystery of Shabd.
How can I extol the glory of Shabd?
Shabd emanates from the inaccessible realm;
without Shabd, all beings wander in delusion.
They linger on, worshipping water and stones,
and remain hindered by texts and scriptures.
Those who suffer blows from the dictates of the mind
are cast back onto the wheel of eighty-four.
The Master is the breath of my life - my very life;
he has bestowed on me the gift of Shabd.
Shabd is my support; I have realized the profound mystery of Shabd.
We must endure many miseries if we do not listen to Shabd within.
We cannot find our true home without serving the Master.
What choice do the ignorant have?
Without a Master, they cannot find the secret of Shabd;
their mind and senses are not under their control.
Therefore, they fall prey to Kal.
The Master is the breath of my life - my very life;
he has bestowed on me the gift of Shabd.
Shabd is my support; I have realized the profound mystery of Shabd.
Seek refuge in Radha Soami; he will save you in every way.
With his grace, in an instant, he grants the untold wealth
of the inaccessible treasure.
The Master is the breath of my life - my very life;
he has bestowed on me the gift of Shabd.
Shabd is my support; I have realized the profound mystery of Shabd.
This shabad is published by Radha Soami Satsang Beas.
