I probably made a comment on this vid a few years back, but am now making another one. Fellas, Brutha's all I can say is Chaka Khan with that inner city beauty, man that complexion those cheeks, them eyes and none of us will ever forget what was underneath!!! She was so fine and had the most sensual, sassy, soulful voice of any other female artist back then that I could remember. Man, the vid just reminds you of the good times we all use to share, when our parents didn't have much, but were all doing the best that they could... How when we were all in school and in our neighborhoods there was conflict at times, but we still had respect for our families and the community and we stuck together. Yeah and through all the gang violence, and brutality from certain law enforcement, (Not All of Them) we still found a way to stick together through some pretty rough times. I grew up on the west side of Chicago which I'm sure was no different than any other inner city! Same stuff, just finding a way to make it through, but it was just that vids like this made you want to have fun and support and do right by others which was something all our Mom's preached to us as we went to work, school etc. I will always appreciate vids like this, because it brings you back home so to speak when times weren't easy, but you and your family made the best of what you had and lended, and got the help and support you needed from around you and those who had similar struggles..... Oh yeah, also I could have listened to B. Marsalis on the vid for another 5 minutes at the end! So smooth, which proves we have the ability and capacity to do so many things! Defying the odds/obstacles and making it happen...
