GUP Tech PDeQ Power Amp EQ Pedal Demo - presence & depth control! In this video I bring my Orange Jim Root Terror and Soldano Mini SLO to the next level with this power amp pedal in the FX loop of my amps.

This GUP Tech PDeQ pedal simulates the eq controls for your power amp. Works really well with guitar amps that don't have Depth/Presence power amp eq controls and works well with solid state amps to give them some tube-y flair. I love this pedal as I find it provides clarity and punch to these maps and takes them to the next level!

Dude.. just got one of these in the mail today... was skeptical based on not really being able to make out the Depth adjustment very much in any of the youtube videos, but damn... it's good.. Just ran it between my ENGL Ironball preamp and my SD Powerstage 700.... Holy FXxK!!!.. such a good piece of gear.

Great demo!
I need to try this with my Orange Crush Pro 120. The face knobs on the 120 are really cool because the Treble, Middle, and Bass knobs actually seem to change the texture of the gain itself, whereas with other amps it only really seems to add and subtract frequencies from the equation. I don’t exactly know the technical aspects behind it, but what I do know is that it would definitely take my Orange Crush Pro 120 from sounds super flubby and flat to tight and precise with an attack very similar to a lot of the big American style amplifiers.

Does the pedal only boost, not cut? Because usualy at around noon is unity-gain, and you had the knobs all the way to the left before turning it on.

Based on what I was hearing noon didn't sound like unity, so I don't think it cuts. Maybe if GUP Tech sees this comment they can say for sure.

It's different. A clean boost in front of the preamp will sound and behave different than an EQ in the loop. You may achieve similar results, but they are effectively different things.
