July 29, 1991 Inglewood Forum and October 3, 1992 Pasadena Rose Bowl. My friends and I were lucky enough to see Guns N' Roses two times during the Use Your Illusion Tour. Make no mistake about it, between about late 1989 and mid 1991 people were putrid delirious to get a hold of brand new studio material and see them live. People could not wait. MTV broadcasted the Rock N' Rio concert in late January of 1991 and then people got more sick seeing the band were still together and with a new drummer..."The band is progressing." Then when they did the three warm up shows in May 1991, all hell broke loose and people finally knew...GNR are not just still together, they are starting a world tour and have brand new material coming any day...and it's a double disc. This was a very special time compounded with Terminator 2 already doing so well and with "You Could Be Mine." Sorry, rambling here, but that era was so bad ass for hard rock and metal.

Fun fact: at the beginning of Estranged (after the scene where Axl almost dies) that scene was actually taken at Axl Rose's house. Also Coma was written by Slash and Duff and was originally called "Gurth". They also wrote Locomotive around the same time. Slash said that Coma though was his baby

Actually on an interview with Mixing engineer Bob Clearmountain he state that he been fired from the illusions mixing was because the use of drum samples which Axl and Slash wasn't happy about it sine they wanted to keep it original as possible.

Most interesting to me is that, according to Slash and Mike Clink, there's barely any of Izzy's guitar on the Illusion albums. Izzy, they say, would record guitar parts on a 4-track and refuse to do anything else, leading Slash to doing most of Izzy's parts properly. Izzy also, oddly, then complained that there was hardly any of his guitar on the albums. I wonder why...

i saw them open for INXS first just as appetite took off...but i saw them years later just a couple shows after the St Louis show and im telling you there was almost another riot nearly 4 hours had gone by since the openers were done and people were getting pissed and throwing stuff some people were even leaving because they were getting scared..then the lights went out and Right Next Door To Hell started. They were good but that was the last time i ever bought their ticket no way am i waiting half a day for a band i dont care if its Led Zeppelin...well maybe Led Zeppelin.
