Gunpla Step By Step - Build Your Own Amazing Diorama Guide!

Ойындар

In this video I will be showing how anyone can create an ultra realistic looking diorama display base for their model! In this particular video, I was building a “Master Grade Tallgeese Ver. EW 1/100 Scale Action Figure Model Kit” for my brother’s birthday.
This is my second video and again I apologize for some of the editing. I am still learning and trying to get better at shooting and post processing. If you have any questions about any of the techniques used please comment below and I will try to answer best as I can!
Here are a few links to some video tutorials for techniques that may not have been fully explained in the video.

This was great. I'm planning my own diorama build and seeing the start-to-finish steps helps with me figuring out what I need as a first-time builder.

This looks excellent! If I did have to criticize one thing it would be the use of some of the extra props, the barrells and sandbags and such. They look good on their own, but I think they take away from the scale of the Gundam. I admit IDK the size of that particular Mobile Suit, but they're typically in the 5-7 story tall range and I do feel that size isn't really all there

Absolutely gorgeous; one important question though when painting the tallgeese did you just go black primer~> administratum gray~> flat white from tamiya? I ask because cult of paint uses a different tamiya based gray instead of the adeptus. I really love how smooth that paint job came out.

I think the scale is not right. You do know that the gundam is 18 meter machine, right? The diorama size is too big.

Outstanding! Your work is great inspiration and some of your solutions are surely clever (paper clips to simulate rebars: brilliant!). How long did it take you to complete the diorama base? Did you seal with clear or gloss coat only once or at various steps of the process? I’d appreciate and be honored if you could check some of my diorama videos and give me your opinion. I’ve started very recently to create dioramas and I’ve not evolved into buildings yet, but it’s my next step. Thank you in advance!

Only sprayed once with some pigment sealer to seal that in, besides that nothing else, I find they dull it down too much and make everything look muted. Base not too long, few hours each night over the course of a few days! I will take look for sure!

Painting a kit while assembled seems so much more complicated. Same with priming black for white. Why go through all the extra effort? Also the visor is really cleanly color separated, so having the blue bleed like that when it doesn't need to bothers me more than it needs to

"Wasn't a pleasure to build"??? That is the strangest statement. There are literally millions of people who have the exact opposite feeling about Gunpla. In fact, there is a company out there that is making billions from the fact that millions of people find building Gunpla VERY pleasurable.

Nothing against Gunpla at all, I just don't enjoy building and prepping models honestly. I enjoy the painting. I am also used to building very simple models with Warhammer, so for me it was a way longer and more detailed process then I was used too, especially since it was going into a static pose for the diorama so all the movement ability was useless to me in the build. I get why people love it, especially since they come painted and snap together without glue. I just don't enjoy the process in general and just want to get to painting :)
