I love The Witch from Mercury. The fights are amazing and the story line, politics and world are dense and amazing.The Gundam designs are also incredible, with the Calibarn, Shwarzette, OG Aerial and Pharact being my favourites. My only gripe with the series is that the first season and second season differ so much in terms of pacing that the second season feels incredibly rushed. When I reached episode 9 of s2 I was convinced that the show would have atleast one more season because the storyline had so much going on and after seeing the whole show I wish it breathed a little. Some things I feel like the show could've expanded on more were: - The origin of the Aerial and if it is just the Lfrith renamed or a completely different Gundam - The history behind Prospera and Delling, she never seemed to harbor anything towards Miorine despite Delling murdering her husband and friends. - Miorine's mother - More backstory on Kenanji Avery, I thought it was super odd that he just appears in the anime and then I read that he was the pilot of the Beguir-Beu during the Vanadis Incident (I NEED TO KNOW MORE) I love this show solid 8/10

I like the ending that implement "everythings gona be alright", the end of romantic build up that goes smoothly instead of shocking event like "mika having a child".

Revenge solves nothing friendship cures revenge yuri answers all prayers that is what MSG is all about.

As an Utena fanbitch, this anime is my gateway drug to the gundam mechaverse

This show single-handedly earned the same love I have for Universal Century Gundam animes, which says a lot, because I'm a UC fan. The moment the trailers and promo material dropped, I thought to myself, "This series is going to be something truly special.", and in spite of the fact that I feel like it should've been a tad bit longer, or maybe there should be some side stories that help build G-Witch's world, I still think it's a special series all the same. I mean, this is the first Gundam anime in a long time to take the world by storm, and rightfully so.

I thought this show was amazing. I would have liked another episode to help reach the ending. It felt like the falling action needed a bit more time after such an awesome climax. Still, the ending felt properly bittersweet. The fight scenes and mech designs were amazing, and all the characters were fun. I thought the movement from the high school stuff into the more serious politics was able to raise the stakes organically and wake our characters up to the real stakes of the situation they were in and the nature of the industries that many of them are inheriting. This was my first glimpse into Gundam and it definitely has me wanting more.

Gundam WFM is now my new number 1 show sorry Gundam wing. Season 2 really took it to high hear for me and that ending actually made me cry a bit since im happy that they are finally married. Now they can be happy and live their lives together forever! Maybe we might get a ova of the wedding which i would love to see? Hope it happens maybe!

The first part is ok, it peaked at the end of the first season and the first half of the second season but the end is rushed and there are many loosed ends that didn't resolve.

It was so cool at the start. Just to give up and not finish even one season of Gundam show and nowhere in sight of season two... And that "season" ending was such a rushed mess that rewatching it all made me feel like losing time..

I've seen many complaints in comments but for my part, an IBO/0080/Zeta Gundam tragic ending would have depressed me for weeks in addition to the PTSD from Heavenly Delusion. 9/10 infinitely rewatchable.

WfM was robbed from everything it was setting up... Hell, it didn't even have a full season of anime... The last episode would only have any meaning if we saw what happened... Shadik was a failed Char clone that was rejected from UC for how lame he was... Prospers was a failed Castval Rem Daikun fan girl that somehow both pushed through and gave up half-way through her plan (imagine Char firing asteroid just for him to use Sazabi to push asteroid back into space half-way through the plan). Miorine was a character who would push an asteroid on Earth just to be surprised that it killed people and destroyed a country...

Yeah a lot of underused characters and an ending that's too good to be true. This is like if code Geass ended with lelouch ruling as emperor everyone accepting him and fixing the whole worlds problem. Heck I think, I could write a better ending than that dues ex machina. Suletta tries to stop the whole armada alone she holds on for a while but is clearly losing. Bob sorties out punching everyone trying to stop him from using a Gundam then slaps elan for being a b. Elan and b helps suletta but is still losing until suddenly the data storm becomes unstable. Meanwhilr The extras infiltrate the ship they sneak around but the ship is suspiciously unguarded. It was all prospera whos starting to have doubts about the whole ordeal. Prospera talks to them but is suddenly shot by the doctor extra since she got a deal to kill prospera and her since will be swept under the rug or some shit, the other people on the ship shows up it was a trap. They were planning to contain Erich and sell her or some other bs, suddenly the drones started working and protected the extra, while delusional and weakend she gives mirione a hint about the password before passing out. They carry her and rush to the control room while a firefight takes place. While on the satellite cannon prepares to fire cause they think the plans fail.

I honestly think most of the problems with WfM would be solved by giving it a real second season. We just got so many thing kinda hand waved and thrown out for no real reason. Like where did Calibarn even come from? Just appears out of thin fucking air with little reference to it. So many things wasted as well. The new MS Chuchu gets is basically a glorified Taxi that sees a whole one episode of battle.

And I refuse to believe that Sunrise didn't make money, heck Bandai probably paid off 3 seasons on kits alone.

This was pretty good mecha anime in my opinion. The ending was pretty good. From other news Gundam Seed fans are getting finally Gundam Seed Freedom movie next year for which they have been waiting almost 18 years.

I just hope we get something more akin to Iron Blooded Orphans eventually, this was good but too woke in my opinion. And the plot armor is heavy in this one. I just preferred when we could see mechs have duels with sword and shield, or lead throwers. I’m over the magic or power gimmick tropes. No real display of a pilot’s skill just luck in Witch from Mercury.

Oh this is why the gundam store in Japan closed. And the Gundam is gone forever. I guess that is evolutionary biology for you :../

The ending was just a bunk set up for season 2. This whole season 1 series spent its time dicking around with school, lol break the v fin to win crap battles and corperate company politics... while making you feel sympathetic because Suletta is clearly unstable. its ending only did what most other gundams only take 1 or 2 episodes to do Bam! Heres War, heres why and why our hero is in the middle of it all. This Gundam should've just been another low stakes Gunpla show... The school element atleast would have meshed better. As a fan of more traditional Gundam ( Universal Century, Wing, X, Turn A and even Mobile Fighter G )... I really walked away feeling like my time was wasted with "real conflict starts in season 2! Buh bye have a wonderful time!" After video: I have to check my Crunchyroll account... I dont think I actually finished the series... What your describing sounds different and way ahead of when her mom started attacking the planet than cliff hanger.

This is the worst gundam in my opinion. Not only the ending is rushed and also it attracted annoying alphabet people into the franchise who always bitching over the importance of alphabet representation in gundam and liked the character only based around their sexuality instead developed a really good stories and character. I myself is a big yuri/yaoi lover but gundam aren't about that.i watch gundam for war politic,mecha,characters,and sometimes romance but not yuri/yaoi. I am fine however if the lesbian thing is for side character not the mc. If i want those mc lesbian i can watch/read the yuri/yaoi genre manga/anime like utena,citrus,etc. Also those are friendship bands that suletta and her team wore in early episode,not a marriage thing. That sister in law thing is a mistranslation by crunchyroll. Basically they didn't confirmed or denied that sulet and mio is married and is up to interpretation. The va for sulet said they are married but that's only her interpretation. There's the unofficial artbook by the artist and creator that show sulemio wedding though but that's not canon

fun fact, those are friendship bands which we saw earlier in the series worn by Suletta and her team (just to clarify it for you) the creator also mentioned it is up to interpretation so i don't believe they are "officially together" but it's up to the individual person to decide if that's what they want for them or not. I would also like to clear up that Eri saying sister-in-law is a mistranslation (as usual from Crunchyroll though they did admit to their error when it was brought up) and since i am Japanese and can clear this up she instead say's "i wish you'd listen to your new sister's advice" which doesn't mean they are married instead that she considers Miorine a sister. to be honest this was one of the lesser gundam anime's that have come out and with how little sense some of the things in it make i doubt they cared too much about this one. Sorry i hope you're not upset for my corrections however they are important to have if you're informing people about the show as all this mis-information and translation error's are what started the twitter dummies to go insane.

You wouldn't.. happen to be implying that because they were working together, they somehow weren't obstacles to both of their futures and basic free will, alongside an integral part of their plan being to separate them, right? Witch From Mercury was an embarrassment to Gundam and doesn't deserve the name. The show stars a stuttering, overly obnoxious girl with what I assume has Asperger's, who then becomes a Mary-Sue when she enters what's more of a magical Mecha Pokémon than a war machine Mobile suite, along side an insufferable Girl boss who has the personality of a packaged syringe. Backdropped by a cast of B-team insufferable girl bosses while all the men are reduced to idiots and or villains, with at best character development turning them into simps. Then there is the queer bait nonsense. Its purpose was a single weak and forced plot mechanism where there could have been infinite better options, for one episode for one interaction. All reference to it beyond that literally served no purpose other than to pander to delusional alphabet people. But I can agree that the end was Great... Primarily because it stopped, but also because the Devs pulled the rug on the entire theme at the last minute proving it was a stunt. Fucking cant make that shit up, loved it. And before you start the engines on the anti this and phobe that words, know that my favorite series of the year was Blue Eyed Samurai and one of my favorite characters of all time is Griffith from Berserk. If something is done artfully none of this matters.

100% true critique on this series. While 99% of fans gushed over the positive vibes of the ending, very few realize how bad it actually was. Let me explain: Ericht (Eri) the gundam took a massive laser to the face and began to disappear in the data storm immediately after. Parts of her consciousness which had been evolved into the data storm were wiped out. When Suletta transfers her into her keychain, it's not the full Eri. This is why when they're all back together, you see their mother Prospera to the distance with her eyes closed and head bowed low, like she's given up. Suletta is either that naive or is going to through another growing pain in the future for not seeing how depressed her mother has become now that Eri has been reduced to a little keychain, likely because she can never be recovered out of it.
