I have been through that road 100s of times coz I am from Kollegal Tibetan Settlement that is 20kms from Gundal Dam. I miss Kollegal and my families. Lots of love and prayers from France.

A wonderful place for the tourism dept to improve this with some safety and recreation facilities. Even if they open it only for a few months a year is fine. This and MM Hills make a good one day picnic if they can start early from Blr. It's in the BR hill range of course and quite far from MM, but the same road before deviating to the dam leads to Hanur /MM Hills / Rampura / Naal road. This stretch (Hanur and beyond) was once upon a time frequented by Veerappan apparently.

Well, it seems it is rain fed (from the valley of BR Hills and MM Hills) catchment area's big tank, may not be a dam. Any how a great work, there is also a lotus lake on the way to MM Hills after Kollegal, it seems, pl do on that also if I am not wrong, thanks for loading Kottikal Sir.

A correction, it's a dam within b r hill ranges MM hills is no where connected to this dam. One more thing is BR hills is not considered as western ghats, but one end of it lies pretty close to western ghats
