Just a little video talking about gun oil versus gun grease. i typically use a high temp bearing grease along with a simple gun oil to maintain and lubricate my firearms, rifles, handguns, and carbines.

I hope they didn't charge you too much for that gun grease. Cause I can tell you right now, that's straight up bearing grease.

Was gonna say the same thing. It's high temp bearing grease lol
You know calling semi auto's "assault style weapons" is getting you a thumbs down

In the military where a rifle can accurately be called an assault rifle, they use the rifles in semi auto more often than full auto. It conserves ammo.

Through personal experience, I have discovered that the only gun I own that absolutely has to have grease is my M1 Garand. Every other gun I have works just fine with oil.
I’m a barber and I use clipper grease with my AR, not clipper oil. Well, actually both. It’s high temp. Clippers get HOT!
"Here's your oil which is an.....oil based product." You're a genius.
Some people even use automatic transmission fluid as a gun oil. They even mix it with kerosene to make a combination cleaner and lubricant. The reason why it's popular is because ATF has a lot of detergents in it. That's why the inside of transmissions stay so clean compared to the inside of the engine.

Prepare2Survive - ATF doesn't stand up to heat so well so I mix some mobile 1 with it. 2 parts mobile one, 1 part ATF, 1 part kerosene. Great stuff!

That's cool but doesn't ATF oil stink really bad?
I use grease in warm months and lube oil during the cold months!!
Gun grease is okay in warmer climates but when cold it can cause malfunctions. I use Strike Hold or Weapon Shield in my firearms.
You paid $3 for that 2oz container? Brother autozone, Walmart, etc has 1lb buckets of high tem grease for $4.25 🤣🤣🤣 is what it is gun stores and websites it's what they used they used fill little containers like that and put a gun grease label to make 100% profit of it
I like to use Marvel Mystery Oil as lube. It will help to clean moving and dirty parts easier.
My question is hoppes elite oil good for bluing or hurt it , don't fire my weapons alot try to keep bluing from being harmed thank you.
I used to only use oil on my hand guns and then I discovered this Grizzly Grease by CLP and I've been using it on my handguns and it's been working flawless
Thanks for your opinion I enjoyed how you went from one weapon system to the other. When it comes to the "assault weapons" and being "aggressive" it's spoken like a true new yorker
Good info. Fwiw I use cv grease in places where grease is appropriate such as slides. It's meant for high temperatures and pressures and my guns seem to like it. That said, I've had pretty good luck using nothing but clp ad well.
very nice video. I use CLP breakfree on all of my pistols rails. And during break in I use some (just a tiny litlle bit ) on the locking lugs. CLP is the best IMHO. I use it for lubing only. For cleaning I use Ballistol . I live in a pretty wet climate so I tend to use some oil wipes every now and then to keep a light film on my guns and knives etc.On my bolt actions I use oil only just like you :-) Regards! J
for my pistols..i use Hoppes#9, or Clipper Oil...the oil you use for hair clipper blades..is the best... smooth, and long lasting.

Showemright YTchannel - I use both clipper grease and clipper oil.
my father and I both carry the same weapon with one difference his is a compact - the full size. They're both Smith and Wesson M&P M2.0. he and I both grease our weapons with one difference. He is a high temperature bearing grease I use an actual gun grease. he started having feeding issues and now function issues cuz he was using too much of his high temp bearing Grease. I cleaned his gun put the grease that I use in there from Cabela's and he no longer had any feed issues. So I suggest if you're going to use grease don't use a high temperature bearing grease for a vehicle, use one specifically formulated for a gun.
Is there any difference from hoppes elite and hoppes 9?
If I wanted to long term store my rifles could I use the high temp bearing grease? And what issues with a synthetic/polymer stock? I'm in the frigid north

If you live in colder weather get a thinner grease something like nlgi #1 or #0 rated. Or just get mobil1 wheel bearing grease and mix in some motor oil to thin it some.
Grease will harden if you don't use it frequently just pulled a old g19 and firing pin was very stiff and am going to test load it to see if it slam fires I doubt it's enough to do it but it definitely was a deal breaker for me.
Thank you for the information.😊
Aint nothing like some high temp grease on your bcg...I even rub some on Colt M4s charging handle.
Hopes gun oil is mineral oil, what’s in the elite oil, mineral oil also?
0:58 oil is not "more viscous" than grease
I use Mobil 1 synthetic grease on my 1911, a thin smear along the rails is all you need. On the other hand I use oil on my Walther because it has much tighter tolerances. I also tend to use a very small amount of grease on the friction points of all internal parts.
good info and video...
Grease dries out, so not really appropriate for long term storage. I would imagine any parts would be glommed together.
I use grease on some parts of the BCG. The rest of the time I use Hoppes #9, and CLP
I use vape juice for my glock full VG

You're correct it will be very nasty and filthy looking grime. Not to mention attracting dirt and sand grit. However it will still be very slick and lubricated. My M1A and AR get the grease treatment. Shotgun and handguns get the oil.
Gun oil to lubricate, grease to store. There, you have it.

25 Years of Firearm use has failed to teach you what an "Assault Weapon" is. FYI. "Viscous" means Thicker, not "Thinner."

Omar Guseynov Use oil. Go to Lubriplate.com. You will see online store on the left. Scroll down to Hunting lubricate. Tap that item. You will see FMO-350AW 12oz can. That's what you want to lube you gun. This oil is used on precision machinery that runs all day everyday. You can also buy it on MidwayUSA.com. Lubriplate also sells a grease for guns.check that out on the Lubriplate web site. The grease can code is SFL-O. I know seasoned shooters that told me about this. They use these and only these. Good Luck

Arthur Smith Why would you want to use a spray lubricant on a glock? There are only a couple of specific spots to lube.

Glocks will be working flawlessly long after you're dead as fried 🐔 chicken. No lubricant will not kill a glock unless ur fighting in the Saudi deserts everyday with the slide wide open between reloading.
You didn't actually pay $3 for that little thing of grease did you?

When I was a noob, I used Fun Oil on my funs. I'd pay $10+ for tiny bottles and the oil would evaporate by 200 rounds. Then when I leveled up and got more funs, those tiny bottles were disappearing fast and the cost was adding up. I moved to Full Synthetic Motor Oil. More protection, stays slicker longer, plus you get a large quart bottle for not much more; it was a 100% improvement. However, Motor Oil doesn't protect against Rust very well, long term. Thus here I am researching Grease. Grease is a winner on paper but I need a do it all Lubricant \ Anti Rust solution.
all that experience with lube in the bush of New York, interesting choice to forgo demonstrating your opion an actual firearm and opting instead for showing how to stain a tablecloth. Heres a pro tip for you little buddy: opened containers of light oil, such as gun oil, leak even when closed and you need to keep them upright to spare staining your stylishly elegant table cloth.
Assault style weapons? Goodbye lmfao
N'york lush green forests 😂 and fields not the 🤣 dirt grime and problems you have out West. lush is the right word.
