I'm assuming he couldn't, this is because people I associate with can never identify what is in my glasses reflection (even if they have some type of clue what I'm looking at) and nor can I identify what is in other peoples glasses reflection. The camera/video probably just made it look as if it was easier to see than it was; and even if Rhett was "cheating" how would he avoid looking at Link's glasses when they are on his face? Calm down guys, it's just a game, you do what you have to in order to win (Link probably would have done the same)
