I think I used at least 5 of gumi's VBs in this (+ Kanon's breaths bc gumis suck, thanks to Dumas P for lending me her breath files!)
Although it's based on the bones of one by Alekz, this was by far the most intensive pitch editing I've ever done for a VSQx. I chipped away at this behemoth of a song for months... and burned myself out halfway through. But when I heard the news of Wowaka's passing, I powered through the rest of it. It's my favorite song by him, and I remember crying when this first came out even though back then I didn't even have a reason to (other than it was so damn good).
Because of this, I really tried to inject as much emotion as I could into this cover. I hope that it gets across.
By now, it's been around a month since we lost a legend. With his contributions to early vocaloid music and culture, Wowaka was a huge part of my, and I'm sure many other people's adolescence. Who else remembers listening to "Rolling Girl" on a shitty iPod in middle school?
Ah, those were the days. Rest easy Wowaka. We'll all keep on rolling.
