That's a much better way to do it. I would pay the $1 to play and if i liked the design I'd be willing to pay for the tattoo. I love the idea of spontaneity but $100 is a bit rich if you don't like the design.

A lot of the better studios in my area have a 3 hour min charge. Ya aint getting anything except merch at a studio for 100 bones. Its kinda a win win for that shop to do it like that. Apprentices are probably doing those pinners and cheap skates are still getting tatted

Esther Ramos at least in most gumball machines you can. There normally is this mechanism inside which collects all the tokens and there's a little opening in the back (mostly) which you can open with a key to collect the tokens. And honestly I didn't know it either until a few years back, when a friend bought one of those machines.

It doesn't matter whether someone can do any better. You don't have to be an expert on cooking to tell if your food tastes bad and you don't have to be an expert on tattooing to see that the lines are shakey. If it's something that's gonna be stuck on someone's body, it should be done more carefully.

Some people don't need a deep meaning to theirs, they just like the art and are more open to anything I guess. I'm assuming jus because the other ones tar they already have were the deeper meaning ones and now they just want to fill blank spaces?? Those are the types choosing to use this machine, you can still go in for specific designs. And $100 is cheap in terms of tattoos. Most decent shops have a minimum of $80 where I am, no matter what you get.

Nah. It's a fun thing to do and it will be a fun memory to look back on. It takes away all of the indecision of picking out a design. There's a shop in Chicago called Taylor Street Tattoo that does the same thing. It's kinda cool to just go, see a design you like and decide to get it.

No I can agree with that. Like if you're gonna do that for your first tattoo, probably not a good idea. But it's a fun creative way to add something to a sleeve. It's another piece of art with another story behind it, even if it's just a little fun one.

If those were worth 5 dollars there wouldn't be shading, the linework would suck, they'd probably not even use a stencil, they'd get a huge infection and the skin would be badly burnt. They'd probably reuse needles and the ink wouldn't be high quality.

I'd say these are worth 50-60 because simply shop minimums by me are about 60

I like the idea of this. Good marketing strategy for the tattoo shop since they can easily get drunk or indecisive customers to come in, spend $100, get a random tattoo, and go with it. If they didn't like, another $20 added to that $100. Easy money. It's interesting and fun because you can get something you don't expect and it can be seen as a great memory as opposed to a meaning or story behind it. Not everyone believes that a tattoo needs to have a complex story to make it valid. "You get what you get", so it's not a bad deal.

A lot of comments are saying that it is overpriced???? Think about it this way, each customer gets a full new set of tattoo needles for their 1 tattoo, the electricity to power the machine, the cleansing of equipment, aftercare creams they provide you, and your also paying for the hard time and work these tattoo artists put into perfecting their art, not anyone can just tattoo you and FINALLY they have to make profit at the end of the day and so will charge you a little extra? For something that will last a lifetime? I don’t see what is overpriced, it’s not like getting you nails done!

Josh is an amazing artist. He did several of my tattoos when he was in Dallas. Can't wait to get up to Brooklyn this fall!!

I have 27 Tattoo's and not one of them has some fancy meaning behind them. I just love tattoo's, the way they look and the whole experience of choosing something and getting it done. This is a great idea at least for me because sometimes I'm not sure exactly what I want I just want tattoo's but Tattoo shops want specifics, I'm happy with anything as long as its done in the Traditional style. I wish the shop I go to would do this, I might suggest it to them lol

I think the 100 dollar is an okay price the size of those tattoos is fairly large, that shop also looked high-end and not a local shop, and you are paying for the artist's creativity of how they want to color it.

100 bucks gets you a pretty decent tattoo. Something like these would be about 40-50, but only because that's the lowest most ships will do any tattoo, other than a couple tiny state or tiny initials

I have a 120 dollar tattoo that is larger in color with shading behind it and was drawn and designed by the artist. 100 is a lot to charge for a 50 dollar tattoo.

instead of hating on the video thank them for letting you know what tattoo shop not to go to

A token should have been like a dollar,that way you get more choices and it’s more lucrative for the tattoo shop

the diamond tattoo's lines came out kinda fucked up i would be mad since they're really thick so it's quite noticeable tbh

In my country you can get an actual nice personal design with this price and ready made designs for like 40-100 euroes... But I guess the prices are so high, because this studio is in NY.

100$ for some low quality tattoo, +20$ if you're not happy with what you first get. Not to mention you really shouldn't just randomly gamble on what your tattoo is gonna look like, choose something you want rather than possibly just ending up with a tattoo you don't want

You can say no and ask for your money back, the shop should allow going back for a different one for free and for those, they should be $30 at most plus a tip

you don't get your money back... and they don't *have* to allow people to choose another one. The whole idea is pretty self explanatory, if you don't get the concept of the way it works then that's on the client not them. I also think the $100 makes sense. Most artists and shops have a flat rate.

Idk I think it'd be fun. 100$ maybe nahhhh but why does every tattoo have to have deep intense meaning? The meaning could be that you did something fun and spontaneous. A lot of people have their whole bodies covered in such a variety of different tats w different stories. One of my legs has a bunch of different illustrations of strang mushrooms, I have anime tattoos, a flower, and some other pieces And not all of them have any meaning other than "it looks cool, I like it"
