GUMBA VISIT || LIFE OF LITTLE MONKS.
Visited Phoobtshering Gumba which was absolutely stunning.
Established in 1818, the monastery belongs to the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
The monastery is exteriorly stunning but equally beautiful from inside. Decorated with bright colours, intricate designs, breathtaking murals and frescos, artifacts and statues of lord Buddha and Guru Padmasambhava.
The walls were stacked with various Buddhist religious scriptures and artifacts which were absolutely magnificent.
We interacted with young Buddhist monks who had come from different parts of Sikkim to study Buddhisim.
After we left the monastery, we rode through the beautiful tea gardens of Phoobtshering which was absolutely refreshing.
