I remember watching an hour long episode about this on TV years ago, they called it a Troll and I couldn’t believe what I was watching. To this day it’s still amazing. It’s in the Guinness book of world records for heaviest man-made object ever moved. I’m sure it also holds other record’s

Your talking about the Troll A documentary, it's on youtube as well. The Gullfak C is seen above is actually a different oil platform, but both are incredibly massive. The Troll A is the tallest object ever moved on earth and sometimes quoted as the heaviest as well, but the Gullfak C is actually the heaviest, though not as tall. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pZlmmLexabSqZJc.html en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_oil_platforms

It is breathtaking to look at, all the engineers and amazing workers working together to build such a complex structure and move that massive thing across the long distances of water. Truly makes me realise and be in awe about how far the humanity has come over last 200 years and how many great things it has achieved in such a small period of time.

Says a climate change believer that thinks man is changing the climate. The climate is changing in Hawaii, the 8 mile river of lava has made it's own weather system with all the heat rising, I wonder if that will affect the climate temp. worldwide. Oh, you believe in Electric, right, well that's mostly produced with fossil fuel, but, but wind mills, Windmills are build with fossil fuels to melt the steal and make the resins for the fiber glass for the blades and housing. The insulation on the wiring is a fossil fuel product, the refining of the copper is fossil fuel. Have you parked your car yet ? Are you riding your bicycle to save the earth ? Solar panels, are over rated and also need fossil fuel to mine and melt the aluminum, and the plastic covers over the panels, you guessed it. Oh, you say solar farms, way over rated and a bird killing machine, and again a lot of oil has to be burned to build them, I passed two of them recently in CA, both were not being used. I think people that know are betting billions on oil being around for a long time, we have enough in the US alone to last for another 300 years at the present rate of growth. Liberals in the US have lied so much about oil being bad that I see people upset all the time over it---For No Reason. Have a great day, turn your lights on, enjoy the world.

@@robertsalser848 Where do you got your data of 300 years oil reserve ? Then how much has Saudi Arabia 800 years ? This is ridiculous ! USA is no. 11 in the "list of countries by proven oil reserves" and have 35000 MMbbl (million barrels) it will last 10 years, with the the reserve-to-production ratios (RPR) of today the whole world has 240 billion tons with RPR of 51 years . But I think you'll say that's all liberal propaganda 😱 Sources: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_proven_oil_reserves#cite_note-ENI-7 www.eni.com/en_IT/investors/global-energy-scenarios/world-oil-gas-review-eng.page

@@FabFunty I'm sorry I have so offended you, I got that information back about ten years ago from the chief engineer of a major oil company in the U.S. The Oil shale in the Bakken field in N. Dakota covers 200,000 Sq. miles and parts of 4 states and has about 7.4 billion barrels of oil nd about 6.7 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The oil fields in the Permian Basin now are producing more oil than ever before, with an estimated 20 billion barrels of oil and another 16 trillion cubic ft. of natural gas. “How can we have been drilling in the Permian Basin for 100 years and then find out it has twice as much as we thought?” -T. Boone Pickens A neighbor three houses up from me has spent the past twenty five years in and around Azerbaijan mapping the oil reserves, the job was supposed to last only 10 years but they just kept finding more and more oil, the original estimate was that they had 10 years of oil, his job was to map it underground so they knew where to drill and tell them how much was there., they have been producing from that area for around 25 years now. Pull up images of (Shale Plays) across the U.S., Through the use of advancing technology, several years ago it was found that the U.S. has more oil reserves than the middle East, A lot of oil can be extracted from shale but the price per barrel has to be above about 42 dollars a barrel to be profitable, we are becoming oil independent, (not using oil from OPEC) and being subject to their raising and lowering prices continually. And no, we are not going to run out of oil in the next ten years, unless we get a president that believes the planet is going to die because of the use of Fossil fuels, I was in the Air Force back when Carter was president, he declared we were running out of oil, we had to ration gasoline, you would sit in a line at the gas station behind 20 or 30 cars and could only buy 5 gallons at a time, that was a lie, the Carter administration had become partners with OPEC in the middle east to buy their oil, I'm pretty sure there were some people that were getting paid for that one. I realize you only have access to Wikipedia, that just doesn't mean you are being fed the truth, when you get about twenty or thirty years older and we are still using fossil fuels and nothing has changed you will realize that all the sky is falling scare tactics are just to push an agenda that will destroy our country. Venezuela has the largest oil reserve but their country has fallen because of socialism, now with it's people starving and a dictator in charge that won't give up power to an elected president, they are ripe for some Communist country to come to Maduro's aid, the keep him in power so they can have the oil. God made us a wonderful place to live and gave us an energy source to use until an alternative energy source is developed that everyone can afford and not cover every square inch of CA and TX with Windmills for power, green energy is a great thing and I will gladly support it when it's fully developed, look at the billions that Obama threw at Solar manufacturing only to have them fail, just where did the money go after the fail, no one knows. This same friend that has spent all the time in Azerbaijan has installed solar panels on his home and does quiet well, but he did the installation himself and still spent about 10 grand, the average household just cant afford that, then you have to get on your house about every three months and clean the panels so they operate efficiently, he actually bought a steel walkway and installed on the roof so he can walk down and clean the panels. Enjoy your time here on earth, it's very short, don't sweat the small stuff that is used for political arguments, and really mean nothing.
