I was raised by an Oilfield man. Kept us fed, roof over our heads and exactly what we needed. I remember being a teenager and feeling so bad for my Daddy working so hard. I married a Gulf Coast Cowboy. He kept us fed, a roof over our heads and provided what we needed. I worried about him all the time. My brother is an ole Oilfield hand & Gulf Coast Cowboy. Where I come from this is what many men do to provide for their families. It's a family. When the men are gone off to work some other men are there to watch out for those families. I can't tell you how many times I've had to call an Oilfield man to come fix something at home bc my husband was gone working. Wives watch out for each other. We watch out for each other's children. We're a family. A lot of people in this country may not ever understand the feeling of watching your Daddy, brother, husband or friends leaving to go to work and praying daily they'll be ok and make it home safe. It's a dangerous job. He makes the sacrifices to go so he can provide. His family makes the sacrifices so he can make a living. Missing bdays, holidays, writing a letter to Santa asking if he can come a week early or a week late so Daddy can be home for it... that's normal for us in this world. It's normal for my children. Praying for each and every one of you men & your families.
