Guitarists React to WHITECHAPEL - When A Demon Defiles A Witch

Guitarists React to WHITECHAPEL - When A Demon Defiles A Witch
Alexa and I picked another suggestion off the list to react to.
This was a very theatrical music video, in all aspects of the word.
Very nicely executed.

@@TheMoralMisanthrope fun fact: she had a confirmed multiple personality disorder with something like, 28 different personalities. There's another song on the album titled We Are One that focuses on that aspect of her. The entire album deals with her and her diary and it's heavy, heavy material both lyrically and musically.

This is such a personal album for Phil Bozeman. Based off of a diary his mother kept, who dealt with mental issues and believed she was possessed. The same actress is in the video for Hickory Creek, which is an awesome song. He focuses on his clean vocals on that track.

Oh wow, I was not aware of any of that. I mean I learned it was based off of true events, but the details as to what that meant I did not know. Damn. Scary part is, I can actually relate to that. I need to watch the other video you mentioned now and read the lyrics for both. This is truly a fascinating concept.

The Moral Misanthrope it's relatable to myself as well. A couple family members who I couldn't help but tried. The knowledge was beyond my understanding to make a difference. Especially when it comes to paranoia and they believe I'm the enemy. On hickory creek the line that really stood out to me is "within your own head your creating these lies". Music brother, it can offer such solace, understanding, and knowledge.

For whatever reason, I enjoy 'I, Dementia' and the album it was on moreso than 'The Valley', granted I just discovered Whitechapel for myself about 2 months ago....Which is sad in and of itself, because I live an hour and a half north of their hometown and stay fairly relevant on the current rock/metal scene, or so I thought. Anyhow, NO ONE has yet to do a reaction video to 'I, Dementia' which I think is likely their most "easy to enjoy for EVERYONE" type of song, if that makes any sense. Their poppiest hit, I guess you could say. I do LOVE Bozeman's cleans on 'The Valley', though. By no means do I NOT like that album, as well. Also, there's an OFFICIAL live video for 'I, Dementia' and they sound AMAZING live.

@@justinpramis3171 I 100% agree. Music has been my "safe place" all of my life. I worry sometimes though, because I inherited my mother's disorder, and her mania would reach psychosis when I was younger, and it was terrifying. She's much more stable now, thankfully, but it still makes me worry about myself. I'm taking every preventative method that I can. I don't want to cause pain in anyone's life.

The Moral Misanthrope it's a heavy burden to bare my friend, especially when thoughts and emotions don't line up with reality. The loss of control is a terrifying thing. It can get really really lonely. Your self awareness is commendable.though. Most of the time words don't carry much weight. For what it's worth I hear ya bro.

@@TheMoralMisanthrope lol I grew up in an independent fundamental Bible believing church. I was steered there. There was a tremendous amount of pressure for the young people in our church to go into the ministry. I got a degree in theology and went straight into the ministry after Bible College. I truly wish I could have taken a different path, but we all have regrets. All we can do is move forward.

@@williamduckett3407 I grew up in a southern christian home, and as such was required to attend church every Sunday, and be involved in all church activities for the youth, and I HATED it. My cousin convinced me to try going to youth group bible study at the church she went to, so I showed up in a Slayer "South Of Heaven" T-shirt, and ended up meeting another metalhead that played guitar and bass. We started a metal band. lol. But yeah, all bible study did was make me question EVERYTHING. The more I "learned", the more questions it created. I ended up on the Left Hand Path as a result. I can't really say that I have any regrets about that though.

Try using the , or . keys (they also have the on them) and you can move the video frame by frame instead. I saw you struggling to make out the symbols on that page and thought you'd like to know... unless someone else has already told you that is.

@@TheMoralMisanthrope I see. Well, it's somewhat the contrary here; I do have a bit of an insight into Black Metal (albeit modern day; Enslaved's In Times is one of my favourite albums) but I've never really picked up on anything Thrash nor old school Death Metal. I'd say most of what I've been listening to over the years is from the last two dacades. But hey, that just means there's a good chance of finding gems from yet unexplored terrain! Well, quick info ahead: Persefone are a Progressive Death Metal band from Andorra and New Keepers Of The Water Towers are a Stoner/Doom Rock/Metal band from Sweden (not sure on the genre labels, though that should be secondary). Both songs are from 2013 releases; Spiritual Migration and Cosmic Child respectively. - When the time comes, I hope you'll enjoy!
