I grew up in Boston and have been listening to Godsmack for over 25 years. I’m not sure these guys know what “hard rock/heavy metal/“bangers” are. This is one of their “radio” songs…..in fact I would argue this whole album was the DOWNFALL of Godsmack as a HEAVY METAL OR EVEN HARD ROCK BAND. Then again I tend to listen to bands like Lamb Of God, early Metallica, Slipknot etc. This song and the whole Godsmack IV album is a “rock album”.

Godsmack fell off hard after 2010. I haven't bought or listened to anything since then because it fucking sucks. There's just something that happens to dudes when they get older. They lose their aggression and rage and it comes through in the music. They're dad rock now as far as I'm concerned. There are a few songs I like on The Oracle, but most of it is garbage. Devil's Swing isn't bad. Its rhythmically interesting. 90's and early 2000's Godsmack was hard. Now they're playing piano in the nursing home.
