@IM-ON-RUMBLE cooL. what speakers are you using? i am like the WGS speakers not in the test. on my TV and i do not have the remote for the eq settings as they are offly adjusted. the dv77 sounded great with metal tone. i really like the detail in the altec it has these great layers to it of dimensionality. Like that rich top layer in the highs bringing out detail throughout the low and mids with a bit of stringy hair in there, that was awesome inspiring. i am just think the mids have that sort of almost hollowing sound, although it is quite subdued and sounds really nice still. The webers ever so slightly have that mid howl also yet it is so distant and quiet it belongs there and in the altec..

Digging the Fane and the Mojo BV30H with their more classic rock type midrange and smooth top end, with the edge given to the Fanes. I have a set of 70s G12H Black Backs that just rule, and I think the Fanes would be a good pairing, but sadly, they only come in 8ohm, so I'm probably going to go Mojo.

One thing I have noticed about the Silver Wolf is that it sounds like it was voiced for the Mesa/Boogie Rectifier. It's voiced very similar to the made in U.K. Vintage 30 used by Mesa in the Recto cabs. But then it has a fuller and clearer mid-range to compensate for the lack of mid-range on the Rectifier. It also has far better clarity in the low-end and high-end compared to the Vintage 30, due to that it handles the bass-heavy low-end and shrieky top-end of the Rectifier better than the Vintage 30. I think its higher power handling has a lot to do with its qualities.

Vintage 30: 0:20 Sounds modern but kinda unrefined. Silver Wolf: 1:40 Sounds modern, balanced, clear, and very polished. For a modern metal mix where I need an aggressive but still very polished and balanced sound, I would choose the Silver Wolf. It cuts through the mix like a Vintage 30 but at the same time, it somehow maintains a nice fullness to its sound. They are not worlds apart in terms of tonality but the clarity & fullness in the mid-range, and the excellent clarity in the low-end & high-end response do make the Silver Wolf sound better than the Vintage 30 in the mix.

@@zAvAvAz The Invader 50 has a very pronounced mid-range that sometimes doesn't work well with all amps. It's like a weird mix of Vintage 30, Greenback and Classic Lead 80. It hands down the best sounding speaker for an SLO though. Reaper is somewhere between a G12H Anniversary and a G12H Heritage. Not as aggressive as the G12H Anniversary but not as smooth as the G12H Heritage either. It's kinda meh. The Reaper HP 50 just fails to do what it claims. It's supposed to be a warmer sounding take on the G12H30, but to be honest it just sounds like a G12H Anniversary which is less than ideal for high gain tones.
