The usual piano solo was played before this song on that show (March 12th, 2023), but it was (sadly) omitted in this video!

Can we all agree Haruna is in a league of her own. She's just a different breed of drummer. Does everything all great metal drummers do, 1000x over. Her stamina is off the charts. I'm so in awe of it considering her size. Re the song, to me this is a speed metal song that only LOVEBITES can make melodic and sound like a power ballad. No way Suicidal Tendencies, DRI, or Motorhead (all reknown speed metal bands) are pulling this off. Why I'll say it again, Lovebites is just different. Just my subjective opinion. Great reaction. 🤘

Yes we can agree. Besides the comment on Haruna, you make a great point. Lots of bands can bang and shred, but to do it and make it sound as beautiful as a lullaby it unique. I've never heard anything like it. The closest is some of the European symphonic metal bands, and they write everything to try to achieve that effect.

This band never ceases to amaze. I mean the clarity the dynamics on top of a very high energy live setting. How about Haruna though. She is the Locomotive that drives these songs beyond imagination. Holy Smokes!

And as usual a fantastic performance from Haruna on drums

Others have commented on the better mix in the 2020 version, but I will say there is a positive to this version, which is the continued improvements by Asami. She was already a monster vocalist but she keeps working to get better.

This song is masterpiece !

Myako has a video or two on her KZread page showing her pedal boards and the upgrades she has made. She has a few videos also showing adjustments to all her equipment.

What a shame.....when the pirated version on U Tube is better than the official video😢

As a reactor to guitar solos you should find some diamonds in any Lovebites song. Miyako and Midori are unmatched and unbeatable.

You missed the Chopin piano intro, but Miyako played a piece of Chopin in the guitar solo(When she began tapping). Impressive!

@@One808 According to an interview with Miyako, she mentioned that she rearranged parts of Dvořák's "New World Symphony" and incorporated that into the chorus. Not too sure about Chopin's "Waterfall/Ocean".

People were talking about the "Swan Song" version from the 'Five Of A Kind Live In Tokyo 2020' Blu-ray where Miyako starts it off with a Chopin intro. It's not part of the song, just a short piano solo, but it is incredible. The piano mix is a lot better too because in this version you can't here the piano and Midori interplay in the outro. You need to specifically choose the "Swan Song Chopin Intro" version. Well worth a listen also.

listen to the lyrics and then remember Chopin's etude was the revolutionary etude because of the failed revolution soldiers died that piece inspired the lyrics so I respectfully disagree with your statement that it's not part of the song

The mix on this whole release is absolute garbage. Crazy that they decided to still release it. Normally bands cancel shit like this as to not sell obviously subpar crap to their fans. Guess they decided to go the other way...

@@Equilibrium2903 Yeah, the sound guys really flubbed this one. It could also be the acoustics of the venue. The Five of a Kind concert is the best mix IMO. Daughters of the Dawn and Heavy Metal Never Dies is good also.

ok so we have three versions of Swan song Live Five of a Kind using a digital grand piano resulting super clear in the mix Heavy metal never Dies using non digital grand piano - barely in the mix knockin at Heaven gate 2 using non digital grand piano - drowned in the mix is it really hard to capture an organic grand piano sound and mix it post production?

Noone who hears how shit this is mixed will go out and buy anything of theirs lol. Abysmal.

A masterpiece. The sound mixing was disappointing however, with the piano being so far back in the mix that you literally couldn't hear it until all other instruments stopped playing.

This version has a bad soundmix, piano to low in the mix! And they left out Miyako’s piano intro 😮 The Five of a Kind version is much better!

Why the Lovebites engineers didn't include the Chopin intro (event royalty issues?) and have the piano and guitar mix at proper levels is puzzling! This version is not as good (Miyako makes a minor flub on the piano, for instance). In any case, what an awesome song and performance! Bryan, please watch 2020 Zepp Diver City, Five of the Kind version Swan Song. This is the link to it kzread.info/dash/bejne/lpeBuNarptOwoM4.html. This version is way better than the version you just played for a couple of reasons. One is it's got a magnificent piano intro. It begins with a magnificent piano solo and ends with an epic piano solo. The second reason is the mixing is way better. You'll love it.

This is not as good as the 2020 version that adds Chopin Intro this one not only leaves off the chopin intro it also is a much clumbsier feel on the transition to piano at the end than the 2020 version. IMHO 2020 version far exceeds this version
