    This video is helpful 🙂 I aslo use the same techniquein logic of adding a aux track and placing a compressor there to record, but can you please tell me that what should be the compressor settings and a good input gain level of mics for recording vocals of a decent dynamic range and will the noise not come if we increase the gain in compressor?

  • @dayalvijay

    @dayalvijay

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi divyansh. There is never a fixed setting of compressor as the input Singhal determines the compressor setting not only that but the attack and release also changes according to the style of song. If it’s a slow song and your signal on which you are applying the compressor comes after a certain time (every bar, every beat) then the release setting will change. (This is more of a creative thing than the technical ). So the settings keep changing song to song.

  • @dayalvijay

    @dayalvijay

    Your gain structure should be such where you should get good 60% of your FS level. So you got good strength of signal as well as good headroom you process it further.

  • @dayalvijay

    engineers keep different levels of the masters but keeping diff platforms in mind -8 should be the level (LUFS). on individual channel while mixing you should have about 6 db of headroom for cleaner processing.

    Yes you can but for that, you'll need to learn mixing and mastering, as you mention, you have heard it on on different speakers and it sounds good on all, that's cause different speakers work......... You guessed it, differently, and mixing and mastering the process itself has a huge learning curve, I'd suggest you get started with checking gainstaging then move on to how to eq and compress need more help, lemme know @noisyboy9999 on Instagram, good luck
