The first strum is the pop-rock strum

I liked your Top 3 Guitar Strums lesson. Strum #3 sounded really good - and new to my ear. My problem: How does this strum fit into a 4/4 time signature? It appears to be 3 down-up strums - is this for 3/4 time? Could you show using "1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and" where the strums go for a song in 4/4 time? Keep making these great videos, David

in case you haven't figured it out on your own yet. He leaves out the 2 for the down strums. pattern goes: 1 (and 2 and) 3 (and) 4 and those in brackets are not strummed. kind regards

There's a count of 2 between the first and second down.
