Thank you! I hope you can use it for your playing.
Almost exactly the same lesson i give to my students looking to get a bit outside by using the pentatonic scale they all use over rock stuff. 🎼😊
Great ideas and playing - more melodic that I hear Scofield playing.

If you think of the pentatonic scales as major, you can think of this as playing tritone subs for both V chords (Galt and Aalt) while playing the I chord over the ii chord (C over Dm9) and the II chord over the I chord (D major over C) -- fun stuff dude!

Super cool, how did you arrive at these specific pentatonics over each chord?

What's the formula? Why use Amin penta on D9? Bbminor on G7alt and the rest?

Why Bb minor pentatonic over G7?
Any easy way to understand G altered chord on Bb ?
@EnmaMusicProduction
2 жыл бұрын
G altered chord has the notes of a Ab Melodic Minor and if you simplify the Ab Melodic Minor scale you get the Bbm pentatonic scale. In simpler terms if you encounter an altered chord play the minor 3rd pentatonic of that chord

How can there be a minor pentatonic scale when it has No 3rd???
