Guitar Lesson: How To Play Say It Ain't So by Weezer

Музыка

Welcome to day one of FOUR DAYS OF SAY IT AIN'T SO 2020! This is such an important song that I wanted to take my time and pay it all the heed it deserves. In this video you will find all the guitar parts except for the noodly parts in between the verses and the solo. Still to come, of course, are the solo, the bass line, and the campfire version. Get settled, there's a lot to cover :)

Glad to be of service Joelle :) I assure you, what I showed you for the second chord of the bridge is what I saw Rivers do in several live videos - you're wanting to hear the low note drop a half step, which the bass takes care of for your earballs and the guitar just does the high octave. you could do both octaves if that's pleasing for you and you'd have 698xxx

  • @acousticmario6109

No it's your call lol. Music is fluid. River plays it multiple ways and I've seen many different people play it many different ways. It's more fun to make it your own then do exact note for note copy. Even river doesn't do the same thing Every time I'm sure that it would bore the heck out of him. If he didn't liven it up and play it multiple ways. My point is that for this variant with your tone and style it sounds better barred then raised to pluck the notes. Maybe a tone adjustment add a bit more lows end or fuzz or something the raised might sound better. Sorry if this came across as confrontational. It's not meant to be. You have skill and I respect that.
