Cool lesson. I like how you show the mechanics of the song. I pretty much already knew how to bounce from the D and F to get the funky riff progression, but using the G, F#, B minor, and D gives a new light to it. You can get creative and add your own spin to it, or like you said, a cool campfire version.

In my opinion, the Pixies were the last piece in the foundation of the creation of what became the Seattle scene that included PJ, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, etc. ( I dislike using the G word) They weren't from there, but they were a big influence. Also, I saw them the first time in 1989 and they were glorious.

They were most directly a big influence on Kurt. Everyone knows now he cited them for his inspiration of Teen spirit, and praised Kim's songwriting.

So this is a great lesson thank you for sharing, I wanted to say that the way the solo is played, Santiago plays it differently outside of the Pentatonic scale at the 7th and 9th fret, if you check out live performances of Hey and if the camera spotlights Santiago during the solo he is playing it around the first 4 frets, same notes just different ways to play it I suppose, I have seen many people play it this way on your video which is still right , I started out playing it this way but when i look at it deeper once I noticed the way he played it was actually quite different but I have seen him play it closer to the first frets, just wanted to add that in, I played it by ear it goes as follows: 3rd fret second string, 4th fret third string, 2nd fret 3rd string, 4th fret 4th string, 2nd fret 4th string, 3rd fret 4th string, 4th fret 4th string Next part of solo: 2nd fret 2nd string, 2nd fret 3rd string, 4th fret 4th string, 2nd fret 4th string(×2), 3rd fret 4th string, 4th fret 4th string Next part: 2nd fret 4th string (×2), open 4th string, 2nd fret 5th string, open 5th string (×2), 1st fret 5th string, 2nd fret 5th string Obviously you repeat this part^ That's what I got so far I think the rest of the solo may be the same, I havent figured it out quite yet, hope that helped!

The Frights are cool. I hadn't heard any off of the new album until I copypastaed the track name. Cool song. Unlike what Zach Carper said about You're all gonna hate this, I didn't. I thought it was an awesome album.
