All the other legato videos in youtube are useless. after watching this, now the concept is clear. really a lot of meritorious people don't play guitar.
The first lick almost straight out of David Lee Roth - Shyboy intro. Just goes to show the influence Steve Vai has had on Alexi
Damn, haven't watched a Laiho lesson in years. His english got way better and his playing is still perfect!

If all the advice given about fretting hand placement were true then Alexi shouldn't be able to play! Hand perpendicular to the fretboard they say. Thumb behind the neck they say. No flying pinky they say! Well I guess those "Proffesionals" aren't aware of Alexi's playing 😂 RIP Alexi

first time i've seen him do legato haha he is mostly alternate picking all the time which is much more difficult

+Kyle Arnold Not necessarily. Often depending on the lick the legato can be harder than alt. picking it. I myself am more comfortable with alt. picking, unless the legato is very linear and simple.

trust me alternate picking is harder..when string skipping it gets messy

Dude he is endorsed by Wrigley Airwaves, the ongoing chewing is just a part of the promotion. And for all the haters who say he is bored asf, do you know how hard it is to chew and chew and chew for years until your jaw ist bleeding? its exhausting :P

Benjamin Kip He isn't very articulate and struggles for words. Steve Vai is the true master. This guy will always be a little lost boy.
