As a cancer survivor i feel heartbroken for the sad news...R.I.P Mr. Edward Van Halen.

This makes me sick to my stomach. He was my first guitar hero and has never lost my admiration. He was the Mozart of our time and his contributions to music and the industry in general will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace EVH

Damn my cd player is broke in my car. Gotta get it fixed. Loved Van Halen. My sister got me into the music back in the 80s when we were teens growing up. A little part of me died today too. Mr. Edward Van Halen will always be my favorite guitar player. Van Halen has been my favorite band for more than 40 years. I was very fortunate to have lived such an amazing era. My childhood/teenager/adult hero past away just a few hours ago. My condolences to his immediate family, and to the world who worshipped him. I can close my eyes and transport to my bedroom as a kid, where my walls were filled with VH posters from Circus and Hit Parader. That young and genius guitar player back then, will entertain heaven today. So angels, put your harps down tonight and enjoy the show. R.I.P. my hero, Eddie Van Halen.

This really hurts, 2020 has been such a bad year. I never got to meet Eddie , but I saw VH in concert 11 different times over the years. Back in the days of General admission tickets, we would show up early and get front row. At the end of the Fair warning tour Eddie reached over and handed me a guitar pick. I have it in our safe deposit box along with all my concert ticket stubs. Rest In Peace Edward Van Halen, you were one of a kind!

Fantasy: staying overnight at a girlfriend’s house Reality: in Dallas with a boyfriend and his buddies for the Van Halen 1984 tour. Thanks for the memories! This era of music will never be surpassed. RIP

@Scott Tracy i don't recall SRV influencing an entire generation of rock guitarists, and I can't even think of a song in which he breaks out of the blues box. He couldn't swing like Ed, he couldn't innovate like Ed, he couldn't solo like Ed.

Im very glad that I was able to see them perform many times. He was just amazing to watch.

Was fortunate enough to see him live during the diver down tour.When the band left eddie alone on the stage for his solo was one of the most epic moments I have ever witnessed.

RIP. Seems like you always had a smile to go with those sick licks brother. You are already missed.
