That 5-note Star Power chord at the very end is actually symbolizing you building up enough energy and then unleashing it to finally free the real God Of Rock from Lou's imprisonment in Atlantis. At least that's the way I see it!

I FC'd this for the first time last week and ending the song on that 5 note chord is probs the most satisfying way to end an FC ever. Also this chart is way better than GH3's imo I can't stand the solo on that chart

3:29 Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the only GRYBO chord in any official Guitar Hero chart. It's funny how we've never seen this in any official Rock Band chart but all of the Hero games on the Nintendo DS have at least one chart each with a GRYB chord.

Gonna tell a short story here. Smash Hits was my third Guitar Hero game when I was a preteen. Played some of it but I heard Raining Blood from Quickplay so I dared myself to play it. By the time the pull off section happened, I literally ran out of the playroom out of horror. It was the best thing in my life... ...that is till I saw the last section: the infamous 5 note chord. Literally I just selected the final section and wondered how my stupid little four fingers could get all 5 notes held down simultaneously. Literally, the most memorable song next to the greats. Smash Hits wasn't the best GH, but it defined difficulty for me. After that, I decided to play GH3 career on expert strictly. It was that good, and I don't regret it. Thanks to whoever charted this song lmao.

I love how a clap of thunder warrants the only five chord chart in Guitar Hero history.

We're in the final three, my friends! I can't believe this is really it. This whole setlist has gone by so fast! When it comes to Slayer, I'm not exactly the biggest fan of them, but I do enjoy their hits and respect the incredible legacy they left behind as one of thrash metal's Big 4! That being said, I'm glad they brought this song back from GH3's final tier. As much as I wanted "One" to be included, it deserved to be in Guitar Hero Metallica, because COME ON, that's one of that band's biggest hits! But enough of my rambling, let's dive into the first of my final 3 analysis comments: On Bass, this song is in Tier 6. While it's easier than Guitar on this song, it sure does have its challenge points. The intro riff is pretty simple enough as it consists mainly of 8-note strumming on the Open and Orange notes with a walk up and down the frets before going back into the Opens. It's pretty easy all-round, but it's good to get you ready for the song up ahead. The tempo then picks up, and your main focus is on Yellow and Blue notes. Just follow the pattern as it switches between 1- and 2-note strums. Be careful, though, they occasionally throw in some Greens to surprise you! Don't miss these, as there's Star Power added in somewhere that can be greatly helpful later on in the song! We then get into the verse, and again, like the intro riff, we have straightforward strumming, but the tempo is much faster and it also throws in all the frets in between the Open notes, so keep your fingers moving and make sure to hit as many Star Power phrases as you can! Following this, there's the part at 1:45 that, while pretty basic, can really throw you for a loop with 16th-note strumming on the Orange fret! You may end up breaking combo here, but don't worry, it's alright if you miss a Star Power phrase here, because then the break follows. This part is very easy and a good breather section. It follows the Guitar for a brief moment then goes to 2-note Open strums followed by Orange strums. There's an easy Star Power phrase to get here, so if you missed the fast-strumming one earlier, you need to pick up this one! It'll help greatly for what's coming up! After one last strumming section, you're now into the "Storm". If you haven't used Star Power yet, the time to activate it is here, because this part is CRAZY! I don't really know how to describe this part, so keep your fingers moving between all the frets and follow the strumming pattern. Star Power is going to be your friend here, so if you've saved up on it throughout the song, here's the time to let it rip! This song is definitely worthy of the Tier 6 rating it gets. While it's surely easier on Bass overall, don't underestimate this chart or the challenging parts WILL get you.

For the first time, you got an FC with a GRYBO (5-note) chord in it! Proud of you.

Hellish song, and at least they put it into the game (muahahahahaha). This is one of the most interesting charts on the entire GH franchise too, because this is the only song that has a 5 note chord lol. Overall this may be the craziest chart among the two other ones.

If it wasn’t for the frantic note section at 1:12-1:28, I can beat it on expert. But unfortunately my hands as well as my wrists cramp up badly whenever I used to try and play GH/RB songs on expert difficulty. Great video as usual good sir!

I can't even get past mosh pit in both games.

Single notes: For single notes, octave "chords" and palm-muted power chords. 2-note chords: For two notes played simultaneously, power chords and palm-muted barre chords. 3-note chords: For true chords (i.e.: major and minor barre chords) and more complex chords such as 7ths and add9. 4-note chords: For truly bizarre chords which push music theory to the limit. 5-note chords: "TASTE MY LIGHTNING, FUCKER!"

In this song, Tom Araya says that the sky is turning red. Red is one of the primary colors associated with Christmas. Therefore, this song is a Christmas song kappa. (I have no idea why this song was included in the game. I would've preferred Hangar 18 over this tbh.)

*RAINING BLOOD! FROM THE LACERATED SKY! BLEEDING ITS HORROR! CREATING MY STRUCTURE, NOW I SHALL REIGN IN BLOOD!* Here's that other "extreme" metal band I mentioned back on Laid to Rest that I like. Slayer, one of the Big 4 of thrash metal and infamously hailed as the fastest band on the planet in their heyday. Raining Blood is their most famous song and was part of the final tier of GH3's career mode, though it's not the final representative of GH3 in the game (you know what I'm talking about). It's not my favorite Slayer song, that would be Seasons in the Abyss. That said, it's still a banger. The intense riffs and buildups perfectly fit the subject matter, and I don't think it would've worked with a normal song progression. The highlight of the chart is definitely that five-fret chord at the end. Who the fuck thought that was a good idea? Also, the time signatures during the song lead to an interesting SP path. You'd think that it would be best to activate during those quad sweeps near the start, but no, you're better off waiting for the three-fret chords for your first activation. Oh, and who the fuck thought that putting an SP phrase on the final note was a good idea? That last note is the biggest troll note in the series.

To my knowledge, shepherd of fire by Avenged Sevenfold also has that same problem on guitar, only thing is that is much worser there, since the last sustain isn't too long.

@@swinelias Actually, Shepard of Fire isn't as egregious because the overdrive phrase in question is a unison phrase, so it's there for bass and drums as well, and both those instruments have a section afterwards. It makes perfect sense for full band, and it can just be used immediately on the final guitar note for solo runs.

I just got that game for this Christmas

I only play as vocals in this song, and I got gold stars and a perfect score.

Australians be happy with Christmass, im waiting 2 more weeks for mine since Othrodox. Also first try on Smash Hits and i got 5 stars on this, from then on i started doing the grind for 5 stars on GH3, it does not make me happy one bit.

Many Clone Hero custom songs now a days are most likely going to have 5 note chords, just like in this song. How DO you hit that with just 4 fingers? The most comfortable way to play that chord is to have your first finger press both green and red at the same time and then your remaining three fingers hit the yellow, blue, and orange. This specific five note chord lashes out at you fast, after all that you have played through. Hitting the chord successfully is one thing, but having to transition from single note passages to five note chords is a whole different thing, especially for players who are not used to that infamous act.

@Wakanda Oroszlános I feel like people dethrone all of GH games past 3 too hard, i mean compared to GH 3 while i prob failed more there, i got far less 5 stars and even 4 stars on later games, and i sit nicely on, pretty much most hard songs on earlier with 5 stars.

So, if you activate that last activation a second or two later, are you losing points? You say in your Info that you "activate immediately, nothing hard there," but is there a note penalty if you're a fraction of a second late? How do you know precisely when to activate? Tilt activation?

GH3 - 1,247 / SH - 1,255 / RB3 - 1,384 The major difference with the RB3 chart is the ending. Just a load of strum lanes and it sucks!

@@swinelias It has to do with more trills and the, bit before 5 note chord [which the GH 3 version is missing] however all trills in SH are lower density. And RB chart is just, trash, i mean its 1 thing having a dumb chart and it also being strum lanes only.

You don't know the easy way to hit a five note chord? It's super simple. Just be born with six fingers.
