this bird looks really... wild. I know it came from two semi domesticated species, but it almost looks like a raptor

@@shtreberka3642 happens in the wild with many animal species. actually, it's believed that our own species reproduced with at least 3 different species of man, and it's also how domestic dogs and other pets/livestock came to be. hybrids are often smarter and have physical advantages.

I have two white female keets and I was hoping to cross breed them with my bielfelder (sorry if I spelled it wrongly) rooster. Has anyone tried something similar and what were the results? Were the eggs fertile for hatching the second generation

I don't think people are aware that the outcome of this cross breeding is that most of the birds don't live very long. Nature doesn't like these hybrids, so they are infertile and suffer from many health issues. People who do it, do it for novelty, and I don't think it's right.

Do what this tell me is guinea fowl are just a wild type of chicken, just like bison are a wild type of cow and wolves and a wild type dog. Not really domestic, but good to occasionally add genetics back in (if diluted)

as i know, no hybrids are fertile even this guinea fowl hybrid, so it can't be crossed or breed.. after 18 month this hybrid not even lay even one eggs..

any utm it needs 5 months and a half to 6 months to lay it’s 1st egg

poor hybrid, true..they are useless in breeding but for meat, may be we can get various taste :) and in variation of breed for game birds may be... its hard to say.

Actually for the Guinea fowl hybrid it’s fertile because both parents has the same chromosome number which is 39

he is probably good for fighting

Yes actually.. never tested sparring but it keep chasing other chickens away.. no matter how big they are..
